Ex-shat retained a lawyer. Lawyer is trying to keep ex shat out of jail. Has sent my L a message saying that ex-shat is expecting to start work soon.
Today he sent that he would like us to ok pushing back the court date AGAIN so L can prepare.
Fuck that.
This is bullshit. That piece of shit will owe me 11,000 bucks by 2 May. Now I'm supposed to wait longer because ex shat can' retain counsel more than 2 weeks before his already rescheduled court date.
Fuck that shit.
I am so fucking angry.
No. I will not ok that, his L can petition the court to push the date back but I refuse to ok it. When the fuck do I get some justice??

yeah..how the fuck is he paying a lawyer. He should just pay you and he could keep his out of jail. How fucking stupid is this. Pardon my language but I am in a mood today.

The legal system is ripe, RIPE for this kind of fuckery. He has known about this court date for ages, FFS.
I'd say he'll get the continuance so he has representation. What does your L say? You'd think already being in contempt of court they'd throw the book at him but I do still think they will give him the opportunity to have representation - no matter how lax he is about acquiring it.
His delaying tactics will bite him in the arse. I hope you can go after him for costs too.
I know you're angry right now but do try to see this as giving him enough rope to hang himself. He'll run out of hiding places and his deck of cards will come crashing down around him.
I may have reached a point where I'd piss on him if he was on fire.... eventually!!

Hate to tell you but he's very likely to get a continuance. I practice in Indiana - not family law though, so caveat there - and it's very common practice to give a new attorney on a case additional time to prepare.
Sorry he's such a jerk.

I have some extended family in southern Indiana. One cousin in particular has always seemed a bit "shady" and no one seems to know what he really does for a living. I should probably stop typing now before I get this post flagged
Anyway, sorry tesla. I can imagine how incredibly infuriating this must be.

This is what is wrong with people today. They have been coddled to the point that they think they don't have to face their consequences. I would never make it as a judge or an attorney cause I would tell people who waited to the last minute tough s%*t, you made the decision to wait to hire representation you get the representation of the time YOU allowed. I would also question how he can afford an attorney but not his obligations. This has gone too far.

PS How much of a continuance do you need to say, "Your Honor, my client is an idiot who would rather give money to me than to his ex wife and who is an accomplished litigator himself so he really doesn't need me"

Yes, he will get his continuance. I get it, that's how the system works. But shit if it doesn't piss me the fuck off.
But he won't get his continuance because I agree to it. Fuck that. He can spend the money on his L drafting the paperwork and filing the motion. What the fuck ever.
Here is one possible shred of cosmic justice being thrown my way. I know the owner of the practice where ex-shat retained his L (looked his L up today). In fact I work with and am FB friends with his wife. I occasionally go on runs with her (I've been on runs with him and have talked to him socially). Our children are in the same class. I've talked to her about my situation (not him, though). Possible conflict of interest? Well, I'll at least let my lawyer know.

What does your lawyer know about his lawyer? I'd be worried about them coming after you for court costs, trying to build a case that he's supposedly been trying to work with you, you've been withholding/denying time with Teslet, etc.
Not founded, but if his lawyer is a shark.... They might try it. I can't imagine where else he'd get the money for a lawyer, unless it's under the lawyer's assumption that you'll be footing the bill.

Definitely let your L know. These parasites barely lack the brain cells to breathe but for some reason they have an inate ability to screw with the system.
He could try to pull what Ama suggests but he won't have a leg to stand on.

I don't believe his L is a shark. I haven't asked my L about him yet, but I know the owner of the practice (owner isn't the right word but it's his and his dad's practice. I know they added this L within the last year because the owner's wife whom I happen to teach with and have become friends with told me about him when they took him on).
I'm pretty sure that there will be a conflict of interest here and the L will have to drop ex-shat. Or when ex-shat finds out, he may drop the L. It will really bother him that I know the head lawyer of this practice and that his wife knows what a piece of shit he is.

You know, I really don't understand the justice system. Why is it that if you can't pay your medical bills, they'll take your house away, but if you don't pay your CS, you can dodge, parry, deflect, and defer that payment until the cows come home? Why don't they send the repo man to take some things until he coughs up the cash?
Ugh, Tesla. I hope you get your justice and that it comes swiftly!

You know what else pisses me off about this? We are fucking divorced. This shit should be over. He should be happy with his new wife (deluxe stripper whore version), OC, and all those neato pets. He should have a great paying job with excellent benefits. He should be buying a fucking pony. Stripper whore must have earned it by now.
All he had to do was the right thing: pay the money he agreed to pay in the settlement and support his son. That's it. FTG.
Hope when he does find work that it is far away from here.

ex-shat is expecting to start work soon.
This makes my eyes roll.... Expecting. Expecting. These stupid shits expect the world to cater to them. They expect to win the lottery. They expect to be idolized for breathing. They expect rug sweeping. They expect... Oh, hell you get it.
JUSTICE? Please. Let go ever expecting justice. There is none coming. I haven't seen it. I think the only justice is that we live with some of the consequences of their idiocy no paying loser whining game playing stupidity. But they have to live with themselves. Whether they judge themselves or feel the disdain we do, they are stuck 24/7 with "that."
Stretch owes double your figure. CSE has brought him to court three times THIS YEAR as in since January, for non-compliance. And the "expecting" to be able to pay as ordered "soon" excuse has brought nothing that resembles justice in my world.
