For those of you that may remember, DD17 asked me back in April/May if it was okay if her grades slid her last semester as long as she still graduated because of all the emotional turmoil she was dealing with (loss of uncle/aunt and brother). Well, I received her official final grades today and, bless her heart, she still managed to graduate #45 out of 255 with a 3.733! She was around the #25 mark last semester so she dropped down some, but still ended her high school chapter on a phenomenal note! I am SO proud of her given the horrific circumstances surrounding her final months of high school!!! She had so much to deal with (and still does)!!!

My pride brings tears (good ones) to my eyes...

That's incredible! She did great!

What are her plans now?

She has decided she wants to go into the Coast Guard and has an appointment with the recruiter next week. She asked me if I would have any problem signing off on the paperwork because she is still a minor and I told her absolutely not, if that is really what she wants to do, because I signed off for her brother when he was a minor (for the Army).

For the next few months though she just wants to breath, and I completely understand...
