Thank you, Empress NIK! Even better, I finished the job, it's all together and working just like it ought to!

For anyone who hasn't discovered it yet, youtube has videos on home repair projects. I watched a couple, and the whole job went perfectly smoothly!

Nice one! And no leaks, that's awesome!

YouTube is always my first port of call if I'm not sure how to do anything.

The guy and girls are 2 hours away!

Got to go do some last minute bits and bobs shopping.

By the end of the day this place is going to stink of gloss!

God only knows how we're going to be able to sleep in all those fumes!!

Shame it's bucketing down with rain, REALLY need a fire to get rid of all this junk!

Looks like my next job is to figure out why my refrigerator is producing excess moisture. Any ideas?

Capri - check your door seal. You may have air getting in somewhere. Hope that helps.

Thank you! I left DS15 the job of researching what it might be, while I'm at work. I'll send him a message. Forgive a possibly stupid question, but how do I check it? What am I looking for to see if there's a leak?

IWS - how did your open house go?

A bust: 2 neighbors, 2 looky loos not interested in buying and one agent whose buyer liked it, but might bring his wife back at the end of the month.

Last 3 feedbacks: too many trees and brace yourself...too many points of entry. This huge house has 6 doors. Guess security systems and dogs aren't enough.

Seriously? Too many points of entry? What a crock, IWS. Are you still considering changing agents?

Forever - we're still waiting for your update. Whenever you come back down to Earth.

Inspection is scheduled for Wednesday. Fingers crossed for nothing expensive to crop up.

Can't. Stop. Smiling!

Just got a message from my realtor. The inspection was Wednesday. And the buyers have only asked for one thing - to fix a loose piece of siding on the back of the house.

That's IT. I was certain they would ask for allowances for the counters and carpets, which are showing age, and maybe even for the wood floors to be refinished.

But no! Just a loose piece of siding.

AND even more good news - there is a rental house just outside of town, good sized, recently updated, and right in my budget. For months it has sat empty because the owner refused to accept pets. Just this week, they changed their minds and said they would consider pets with a letter of reference from someone who is familiar with the animal and it's behavior.

So I have a showing tomorrow to see if it will work for us. If it does, I'm jumping on it.
