As a group I have no idea. Clearwater Beach has it all. Kayak, paddle board, wind surfing, jet ski. I don't get the adventure vibe from others. There's shopping and sight seeing too.

I haven't looked into any details yet but I'm down for offshore fishing or kayaking or paddle boarding or jet skis or snorkeling or nightlife.....
I am going to make a hotel reservation by next week so please speak up if anyone has a notion for FLG2GHQ.

Hi all,
Please forgive me for neglecting this lately. Here's the stuff:
Weekend of September 27th. Clearwater Beach (make sure you specify 'beach' in your inter web searches, unless you're comfortable driving.)
I personally don't see a need to specify a certain hotel. There are six or seven within walking distance, variations from ~$120 to $400+. It's all about what y'all are comfortable with.
I'm not too comfortable organizing any group activities because I don't really know what anybody is interested in. Personally, I'm good with beach days, fishing, eating, shopping, tourist traps, Tarpon Springs sponge stuff........unless we get some specific feedback I say we wing it. Best way to do beach life. It's the dead season. Tourists are gone and snowbirds aren't back yet. We can have our run of the place.
HQ can be my room. Crabby Bills. Pier 60. Lots of choices.
I'll reach out personally to those who have responded tomorrow. PM me with questions, comments.
I'm going to the Keys next week. I have no idea what the cell reception will be so I may be 'dark' as of Friday night. I'll check in here a couple times a day this week (unless I'm at the bait store)

I'm not going to be able to make this G2G.
Unless I win the lottery between now and then.
Sunsets, in my (limited) experience with SI G2G, it makes it easier to have everyone in the same hotel. That way everyone is together for meeting in the lobby, any inbibing in hotel lobbies requires an elevator ride. Etc.
As a single lady, not used to staying alone in hotels, I felt better knowing SIers were down the hall when I attended Houston2013. JMHO.
That's my pro for a common group hotel.

I'm really sorry to have to do this but I have to drop out as well. I need to be back in Tennessee this week as my father is having a minor medical procedure. He'll be fine but out of commission for a few days and my mom is disabled. I'm flying out on Wednesday.
