Phoenix my heart breaks for you as well. There are no words. Your poem is a beautiful tribute. I'm so glad you are finding the strength to get through this. You are an amazing person.

The poem was extremely moving. I couldn't get through it without tears. You did a beautiful job.
The hair stroking got to me as I do that with my children. I can understand that and the meaning behind it.
I'm sending you enormous hugs. I still think of you and how you are holding up.

If it will give you any comfort, ask to keep a lock of his hair as a memento. There are lockets specially made to keep a lock of a loved one's hair, which can be worn.
You can apologize over and over, but if your actions don't change, your words become meaningless.

My mind recalls some of my words in the Christmas poem I wrote when MIL died on Ts'giving. You use many of those same words. ".......with dignity, honor and grace; When they carried grandma to her final resting place.
YOU have such dignity, honor and grace yourself Phoenix. May your cherished memories of DS be a comfort to you in the days ahead. He was and is one handsome man with such a loving dedicated mother.
