Heh, y'all making me feel like I should have bought some alcohol, "just in case".
It's ok. Surgical procedure recently means I can't drink anyway because of the stupid pills (thinking of that just now, which means I must be feeling better). :-)

I don't know how you waited this long to open them, ga, but if I could pull off that kind of self-restraint, it seems like a neat tradition. 
Gotplayed - I'm glad you're feeling better. Recovery from surgery is job 1 for you, so it's a good thing you're minding the no alcohol rule.

NIK - Both last year and ths year is was so cray trying to get things done before hand that I just kept them on the counter. After the kids are gone and I got the whole house to myself I can really enjoy it without a million questions and other distractions.

Just popping in to say Merry Christmas to all ! I'm having hot chocolate with Buttershots, yummy. Chilling with my youngest DD, watching Kung Fu Panda 2. Supposed to get more snow overnight. Just had 31 inches over the weekend - I can wait a while for more but Mother Nature says otherwise. My snowbanks are as tall as me now. DS will be here tomorrow afternoon and we're having a nice turkey dinner.
Anyone dancing on the bar yet?

So I'm taping the cards to my island wall like I did last year. Tred's card has so much glitter on it that the tape won't stick. It just slid off.

Back from volunteering at church. What an honor to hold two tiny children on my lap and also watch them dance and sing so mom and dad, grandma and grandpa can enjoy the services. Mom was so grateful....
Now, presents for my girls are wrapped. I won't see the girls until late tomorrow.
I am enjoying some red wine and opening my SI Christmas cards. I wish you could see the smile on my face!

GotPlayed, hang out in F&G and sometime around November, there will be a Christmas Card Exchange thread. It will give a link to the rules and procedures to participate. You sign up via PM, and then you send 40 I mean 50 I mean 60... Well, as many cards as people who sign up.
It's mostly anonymous. You share your address with SI Staff, and send your pile of cards to the home office of SI, and all the cards get sorted, labeled, and sent off to the right places. No one else has the screenname/address key.
It's a great thing they do and it really helps with the holiday spirit.
Take care of yourself. There's a great future out there. It won't come to you; you have to go to it.

Whatever you do DO NOT open SI Christmas cards while sitting on your bed. Even when thinking ahead and having said cards on cookie sheet with a garbage can near by......
