I just about died laughing.

My daughter is signed up for anatomy class this semester.

And, she is in a distance learning environment, meaning most of her work is done remotely, via computer and such.

However....

And remember, she lives with her mom and brother.

Anatomy takes on a whole new light now, with distance learning.

They are sending, her in the mail, a dead cat for dissection.

At home.

"keep it in a cool, dry place, they told her, but not the fridge".

OMFG.

I was pretty stunned to hear that they would do this. I know for things like her exams, they have to be taken at the school, not from home.

So it stood to reason she would have an actual LAB class to do this in, at the school.

My mistake!

Now you can carve up bodies in the comfort of your own home.

And where, pray tell, will she set about dissecting this creature? The kitchen table? Does she have to obtain her own tupperware to store this poor thing? Or is the storage receptacle provided? And what about dissecting tools? Just grab the closest steak knife??

Well...I used to buy animals to dissect when I was younger... I loved biology, and you could actually buy frogs, starfish, whatever, to dissect in the comfort of your home. If I remember correctly, I had a little lab set up in the basement.

I even had a professional dissecting kit that my grandfather got from his doctor. My grandpa was so proud of me; if he had lived, I know I would be a veterinarian today.

No doubt Jimi... couldn't imagine what would show up.

In other news... I did have someone put a dead dehydrated squirrel in my mailbox earlier in the summer... who does that?

Nope, not kidding.

She will have to provide her own container.

I am assuming (may be a big mistake here) that she will need to purchase a dissection kit.

As for where to do it in the house?

There is no basement there.

And I am just glad, that it's not my house.

Disposal?

Have NO idea.

In fact, it's something I'm really not even enjoying thinking about.
