BTW, did anyone else notice the guns on that Tesoro agent?

I just logged on to make a quip about those guns! Beat me to it, Dark Inertia.

eta: She is pretty damn proud of those guns, too, why else would you wear a sleeveless blouse to court? Don't feel it is exactly appropriate attire, not that she looks skanky, but business attire would be more appropriate, imo.

Yeah, if I had tri's and bi's like her I would probably be flaunting them as well. Maybe unprofessional... but yeah... I would bet she does shows.

But wow, how many lies was she flat out busted in today?? Lies she blatantly told the jury.

1) Returning the gas can

2) purchasing gas

3) pornography

Did I miss some? The defense team looked totally beaten.

BTW, did anyone else notice the guns on that Tesoro agent? Holy hot mamma

I watch this whole thing later on DVR. But I always read here first so I can see what to anticipate.

Yesterday I did a quick glance and saw this ^^

And then saw the Walmart security person and thought, "Oh dear....don't know how proud I'd be of THOSE guns"

Then the REAL guns made their appearance.

Did anyone hear the Judge give the trial schedule this afternoon? If not, this is the current plan (I say current because Lord knows these ppl don't stay on track!)

Thurs April 25th:Jurors in at 9:30am, expect a short day (no reason given)

Fri April 26:Tuesday April 29: NO court.

Wed May 1: Jurors in at 9:00am & expect to stay as long as necessary, even past 5:00PM.

Thurs & Fri: Closing statements, jury instructions, case goes to the jury.

Could it be....an end in sight?! Of course, WHEN (I refuse to say IF!) she's found guilty, there will be a penalty phase & it's likely to be lengthy but still! We could have a verdict soon!!

DA questioned Medical Examiner as a rebuttal witness.

Poor Travis' family. I can't even imagine how hard it must be to hear all this.

The State rest!? Wow, that was fast. He did a heap of damage to the Defense's story in a very short amount of time.

I will be so thankful when this trial is over. The victim's family has dealt with way too much. Not only with losing Travis, but the complete circus that some people call a trial.

It's a subtle difference, but when Juror #5 was dismissed (for some sort of inappropriate talk), JSS worded her dismissal differently than she did when #11 and #8 (today) were released from duty.

I got the distinct impression that there was no wrong-doing on the part of this juror, but rather that he'd asked and been allowed to leave.

This seems to be the consensus of those in the courtroom (though for some reason they can't seem to agree whether he was present in court today; in fact, he was there, during testimony).

Those "in the know" (who have been there throughout the trial to observe the jury) were very disappointed to see #11 fall ill and leave the jury, but do not seem concerned about losing #5. Not that they thought he was pro-defense---just that it seems very clear to them that the jury is NOT buying what Arias is selling.

There was also the issue of the bomb sniffing dog that I think they said was sniffing around the jury room.

The talking heads and the lawyers said that since the trial started they have never seen the dog there because the court claimed that its done once a month but even the lawyer that works there said she have never seen the them bring a dog in. The court claims that they do it early in the morning.

Then the REAL guns made their appearance.

So far in this trial we have had:

Illicit sex, pictures, videos, sexting, conferences, grieving friends, a smirky defendant, the "FOG", a missing knife and gun, a reputable psychologist, a reputable DV expert, the destroyed careers of said psychologist and DV expert, Snow White, the Dwarves, the shack they lived in (or was it a cute cottage? ) Wal-Mart, how to calculate mileage and how much gas was purchased, and finally muscle women. And I know I am missing a few things...

So what is the word on the Juror who was dismissed?

Oh, I forgot one of the most cringe worthy points: Who was the genius who decided to sit Jodi DIRECTLY in front of the family when they were doing the zoom in of Travis' eye??

I'm so bummed about juror # 8 :( According to court room observers, he was a fastidious note taker, always paying close attention, was visibly turned off by the testimony of Doc Samuels & ALV..sounds like he would have been AWESOME in the deliberation room.

Thus far, there's been no official reason given for his departure. I have a feeling he asked to be excused because of the length of the trial. The jurors were initially told the trial would be over by mid-February. It's the END of April now; plus, when she's found guilty, there will be a penalty phase that could take weeks too. Perhaps juror #8 couldn't be away from work anymore or had family issues. All I know is I'm super bummed about it, he was my pick for foreman.

No trial until Wednesday & that's when the defense puts on yet another psychologist, Dr.Geffen (who btw is good friends with Alyce LaViolette...GROAN). I guess the defense motion for surrebuttal was granted but perhaps limited in it's scope? Ugh.

It appears the juror was arrested for DUI (no other details; who knows if it was booze or Benadryl), and identified himself as a juror on the case to police. He was excused, and courthouse rumor has it that the prosecution was more than comfortable with the dismissal.

FWIW.

LOL, oh yeah... I think I was so traumatized on that sexual tidbit I went into the fog

I was just going to post I heard about the Juror possibly getting hit with the DUI thing. That is too bad. I wonder why the prosecution would be comfortable with it? Are the lawyers privy to information that we don't know about when it comes to the jurors (in terms of how they stand on the case so far)?

The theory is that the prosecution might not want someone with recent unpleasant experience with law enforcement on the jury.

No one in the courtroom is at all concerned that there are pro-Arias jurors. But there IS juror fatigue. And a recently-arrested juror (who really sounds like a nice, responsible man who was affected by exhaustion and stress, as well alcohol, but this is NOT a pattern with him) who was kind of pushed to the brink, quite possibly by this trial, is one that the prosecution is okay seeing leave.

I feel terrible for the man; he cared deeply and took his job as juror seriously. He is apparently kicking himself; he devoted a third of a year to this, and ...well. For what?

(He is believed, however, to have been the contributor of many of the thoughtful questions to the witnesses--in this way, even the jurors who do not participate in deliberations really DO participate in the trial very meaningfully.)
