I saw Nate tonight and had a chance to talk with Mom. He just finished the first round of Chemo on Friday.

Poor kid was on nine different meds including a strong steroid.

He's on one only for now. Yay !

He did have another blood transfusion last week but held his own this week and didn't need another.

He's really tired (normal for Chemo)and only has an appetite for salty foods. Dr isn't worried as long as his BP stays down.

He has a week off and then starts round 2. Nate loves to draw but hasn't since being ill.

It will be good to see him start being a little boy again.

The new baby is due May 13th so this has been difficult for a very pregnant Mom. I will have another grandson in a couple weeks. New baby smell, love it !

Thank-you all for the good thoughts and prayers for Nate !

Please encourage them to store the cord blood! It could actually be a life saver down the road! Happy Nate is doing well!

I forgot to ask Mom about the cord being stored, I had suggested it a couple weeks ago.

Everything is so overwhelming right now. Think I will call right now !!

ETA: Mom has talked to Drs about saving the cord. It's very expensive but is going to check on foundations through the hospital to see about getting it tested for a possible match.
