I have suffered with plantar fasciitis since last summer. The soles of my feet felt like bee stings all over them and they burned so badly it felt like they were on fire....even when I wasn't standing or walking on them.

I think the cause in my case was from going without shoes (in the house) my whole life...60 years! And from wearing nothing but flip flops all summer long.

Well, I just wanted to let all of you who suffer from pf know, that I found a cure (for me)! ORTHAHEEL shoes and sandals. I ordered my first pair in March. It took about a month of wearing them (even in the house), and the pain is gone! These shoes have been a life saver for me. If you have pf, I highly recommend them. So far I have 2 pairs of flip flops, 2 pairs of shoes and a pair of slippers.

I had PF... got a pair of Birkenstocks and a pair of orthotics for my sneakers... this was 10 years ago. Wearing the orthotics and Brirks were the key...

Now I can wear anything w/ no foot pain at all.

I just looked at the website -- cute sandals with support!! Those are so hard to find. The last pair of sandals I bought for support, but I felt like Peppermint Patti wearing them.

I also have been suffering food pain for the past couple of years due to going barefoot and wearing cheap shoes with no support (but cute!).

I have horrible foot pain in the arch of my foot and heel. The doctor stuck needles with cortizone into my heel and I never want to experience that again. He did say I need shoes with better support. Thanks for the advice.

Thanks for posting this. I talked with my sister last night and she told me our 76 yr old mom had been diagnosed with plantar fasciitis. Maybe we can find my mom some shoes or sandals she'd be willing to wear that will help.

Oh thank you!! I also have pf in both feet and heel spurs so my feet and heels are in pain almost all the time. I have custom insoles but they have run their course and are expensive to replace. Definitely going to check out the sandals.

I have really high arches and my feet are hurting right now though I'm in bed.

Is it for arch support?

IDK, jrc. Birkenstocks gave me plantar fasciitis.

I've had bad feet all my life--I was born with flat feet. Bare feet and flip flops work best for me.

dreamlife, they have great arch support and deep heel cups. They are super comfy!

I hope they work as well for everyone who orders them as they did for me.

I'm going to check that Orthoheel brand out, thanks for the tip! I don't have PF, but did once ages ago, and Lord-have-mercy it was awful!

Since it's a foot pain related thread, I can offer a tip re. metatarsalgia; I got it w/my 5th metatarsal as collateral damage from a knee injury on the opposite leg. Podiatrist recommended FitFlops, which are ridiculously overpriced; however, they really did/do help immensely. Asics Gel Cumulus running shoes get a thumbs-up, too.

I had PF as well. I purchased some Phase 4 Orthotics off Ebay (much cheaper there) and put them in my shoes. It took a little getting used to them, but they weren't uncomfortable and it wasn't long before my PF was gone.

That's true, sad1. Any help for hurting feet is welcome on this thread.

I had plantar fascia, maybe 20 years ago. It lasted for about a year...a year from hell. And yes, wearing shoes with good support from the morning I woke up till the moment I went to bed helped. I remember the pain well.

However I am wondering about the "bee sting" thing you feel. I too am 60, and I too have bee sting feet...mine is from diabetes. I'm not on insulin, my case is moderate.

Perhaps you should have your dr. run some tests, just in case.
