I went to my hometown on the weekend for my sister's book launch. My sister's best friend was my first crush as a kid (seven years older than me). She was there as well.
We did lots of harmless flirting, with absolutely NO intentions of more of course, and it was fun.
As I was getting ready to head back home, she gave me a big hug, and said, "I hear you're making positive changes and being a really good dad right now. You should be proud."
I almost wept on the spot. It was exactly what I needed to hear. I was only able to croak out, "Thank you. It's good."
