Just watching the coverage out of Oklahoma City and worrying about the folks in harm's way both yesterday and today as all this wild weather has been pummeling the plains.
Kids being pulled from the rubble of a school right now in the OKC area. Reports the tornado that hit there was up to 2 miles wide?!?

Very scary images being shown on the news.
Praying for all of our members in OK.
I have heard from Heartless Bytchh who is in that area. She is ok and is unaffected thus far.

Six fatalities confirmed so far. By the looks of things, I imagine that number will be climbing.

The activity at the elementary school has gone from a search and rescue to a search and recovery operation.

Heart and I moved to the St. Louis area from OKC not too long ago, and we're both alternately in tears at the knowledge of what's been happening. It's bad enough to know that we have friends who have damaged/lost houses, but those poor children...

The day isn't over yet. So much crazy still on the radar. If you're in the path, PLEASE stay alert and heed the warnings. I know we will be. Our storm shelter is in the basement, stocked with flashlights, blankets, rain gear, and a battery operated weather radio.
Stay. Safe.

Having lived in OKC through the May '99 and May '03 tornado's, I can tell you this is the worst devastation I have ever seen even based on my own visual experiences.
I have friends and coworkers deeply impacted by this event and I can't count how many times I've cried today.
The worst are the children and the brave teachers who did all they could to protect their students. So much sadness today.
Just call me Heart. :)

My heart just breaks for everyone that has been effected by the tornadoes.
I am crying watching news, as a mom, knowing that there are parents that will never hold thier child again....never hear their voice.
The mom with the 7 month old that were killed....the men, women, and children - the loss, its just unbelieveable.
I wish I could help, I wish I could give money, donate clothes, time....I am in Indiana and we can barely buy our own food. I can only pray and that just doesn't seem like enough at all.
I hope our SI Okies are ok. Have they checked in yet?
