I'm at a coffee shop with DD. In the booth next to us, a family - mom and 3 teens - is having the BEST family meeting EVER.

Daughter: "I know you think I'm imaging things, but I'm convinced Scooter is having a gender identity crisis."

Son 1: "You are insane. It's not a gender identity issue - he licks his balls and humps the couch. He clearly knows he's a boy. His real issue is that he thinks he's a dog."

Son 2: "But he's NOT. He's a damn cat. Can we get him therapy for that?"

Mom: "I'll look into that. Can we get back to your school schedules now?"

Priceless.I hope the Mom will fondly remember the conversation years later.

Where were you 10 minutes ago, aesir? And why didn't I think of that before they headed out the door to make a Target run for Scooter's litter and a new scratch post???

Poor Scooter is at home licking his balls and doesn't even know he's about to have an intervention...

They were hilarious. The older son was giving advice to the daughter about her teachers and her schedule.

Daughter said that she really didn't care for her science teacher - that he was a Nazi. Older brother said, "Your perspective is the problem. He's not a Nazi - he's a dictator. Slight difference there. Didn't you pay attention in Government?"

This sounds like discussions between myself and my kids 20 years ago. And probably discussions we will have with the GDs very soon! My 3-year-old GD informed me at the beach last Saturday that the sand edifice she'd built was "NOT a castle, Nana T. It's a PYRAMID!"

OMG now that does sound like my kids!!!!!!!

They had a huge argument over Dictators, Communism and who was the worst one. My H and I were kind of proud that they could each make valid points....
