after being mentored for a year, I officiated at a HS sport by myself, my second job, so to speak. It felt great, and I had to concentrate SO HARD for 3 hours that I couldn't think of anything else going on in my life and that felt SO GOOD!
no major snafus... but a few DQs... that's ok. I love working with young people!
