As we head into New Years Day, thousands of us will take this opportunity to establish goals for ourselves to pursue during the year. Some of them may be harder than others to accomplish but for a lot of us, the desire and intent is there, even if the willpower or skills are lacking.

I want to find a new job.

I want to do a week long kayaking trip down a river.

I want to hold hands with LF more often.

So, what are your resolutions?

Don’t listen to your head, it’s easily confused. Don’t listen to your heart, its fickle. Listen to your soul, God doesn't steer you wrong.

My Resolutions:

- To not give in every time Teddy and Kyle demand a cookie.

- To enter in all receipts daily...not at the end of the week when I have a pile of them.

- To get more exercise because I know how good it makes me feel

- To continue watching Game of Thrones with MH because he loves it so much

- And to take my vitamins every day.

yeahhhh , let me know how that works out for you DS .

I'd like to do some thinning out of things (closets, drawers, me) and maintain a more simple, mentally and environmentally, "space".

Continue the organization processes I've already started.

My resolutions are to:

-Save some money (for riding camp for my oldest this summer, a short trip for the three of us, and some emergency funds)

-Play my ukulele more often (at least 2-3 times a week).

-Improve my diet (eat breakfast at home -not in the car or after I get to work; more water, less caffeine; more fruits and veggies).

Mine this year is to reconnect. 2013 was a sad year. Lost several people way too young, a good friend lost her children... Life is short.

So I have begun reconnecting. Some successes, some failures, but I will continue to reach out to those who are or once were important to me.

I resolve to learn how to walk in the incredibly awesome yet way high heels I bought myself for my birthday.

Right now I can take tiny baby steps (approximately 4) before needing to sit down.

The shoes will not defeat me!!! I will prevail!

The goal is to be able to wear them with out having to take tiny steps or looking like I have bound my feet in the ancient Chinese tradition.

I have GOT to move south. I'm just so miserable with all this cold (and it's about to get way colder and that's all I can think about). Every winter I wail about moving south. I admit that the one time the ex and I actually did it, we vastly overshot by moving to Puerto Rico. So... not quite *that* south.

Looking increasingly seriously at Edenton, NC. Wish I could pack up my IC and my dog's day care friends (human and dog) and take them with me

Would also love to make 2014 the year I turn my soaping hobby into an actual income-producing business, even if the income is very small to start.

I'm done here; sick of 2 x 4s

Every year I was making foolish weight and diet resolutions that never worked out. So last year I started making challenging yet attainable resolutions.

For this year I made a list of 50 of the best Nonfiction books ever written and I am going to read them. I started this about a month ago (I knew this would take more than a year) so I just finished book five.

Last year I made a resolution to run five 5K races. I ended up running 6. It was a good resolution year..lol.

1) Use my Chinese Rosetta Stone everyday so I can finally hold a conversation. I can understand what my relatives are saying but I can barely speak it. But I would also be giving away my secret that I know exactly what they are talking about and they think I don't.

2) Learn how to crochet for real. I kinda know how but I really just make stuff up as I go along.

I would say lose weight but I'm so sick and tired of dieting and exercising from this past year that I'd rather resolve to eat more tasty things.

As many here and other IRL have said loose weight. I did this last year, and took off 20 pounds over the year, My goal is to loose another 20, and also begin exercising again.

I also want to declutter my home and get it organized. This may require my H going into therapy since he borders on being a hoarder. But I can't have his stuff take over my life. It's in every room of the house. Time to start throwing away. I just hope I don't end up in D/S because of it.

I resolve to be nicer to myself. I tend to be pretty judgy of Morhurt and I don't think it's healthy. I also resolve to spend more time with friends. Having so many kids allowed me to forget about myself and focus on them but I need to reconnect. I'm excited to try that one out!

Of course I'd like to say diet and exercise but really, I need to be easy on myself this year (see above) so I'm not going to.
