I get the Morningstar Farms. I like the garden veggie one and recently tried the spicy black bean one and it was delicious. Not too spicy and very tasty.

I'll give it a whirl!
I'm not a vegetarian, but sometimes I would like to do meatless meals.

I'm not either, but I actually prefer meatless meals. I feel so much less bloated afterwards and just feel better overall eating less meat.
Trying to cut down on the carbs, too. Love my carbs!

I'm a low carber already, so I feel much less bloat from skipping rice, potatoes, and bread.
I love spicy food so the spicy black bean burger is tempting me.

Don't be disappointed if the spicy bean burger is less spicy than you expected. It's not that spicy, which worked for me because I'm not a huge spicy-food fan.
But I'm curious to know what you think about them

spicy black bean
I love Morningstar spicy black bean burgers!! I'm a low-carber and my son's a vegetarian, so I have a lot of these in my freezer for when he visits
I also am not a huge fan of super-spicy, so these burgers are great.
For the low-carbers who might miss potatoes, if you peel and dice a celeriac, boil till tender then pan fry, it's just like hash browns. Mmmmmmm!
I'm done here; sick of 2 x 4s

Thanks for the black bean burger recommendation! I've been trying out different brands, but didn't give that one a go BECAUSE it had spicy in the name.
But now I will.

Does anyone make a cold pasta salad using anything other than Italian dressing as the oil/seasoning? That's how I am used to making it, and right now I am in a place with no access to a store, so what shall I use instead?

Authenticnow,
I didn't see the Morningstar Farms burgers when I went yesterday, but I was in the mood to try the black bean burgers.
I found a recipe to make some and OMG, they're soooo good!
Here's the recipe (use less spice if you're not a hot mama like me, lol):
Ingredients:
•1 Tbsp olive oil
•1/2 onion, diced
•2 garlic cloves, minced
•2 (14oz) cans black beans, rinsed and drained
•1/2 cup corn (optional)
•1/3 cup almond flour
•2 teaspoons dried cumin
•1 teaspoon black pepper
•3 Tbsp ketchup
•1 Tbsp soy sauce
•1 teaspoon salt
•1 teaspoon oregano
•1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
•1 teaspoon Sriracha
•1/2 teaspoon chili powder
•2 Tbsp finely chopped cilantro, fresh
•3 Tbsp olive oil (for frying)
Directions:
1. Heat the oil in a sauté pan over medium heat. Add onions and garlic and cook until soft and fragrant and they begin to carmelize. Remove from heat.
2. In a large bowl, mash the beans to desired consistency with two forks or a pastry cutter.
3. Add onion mix and remaining ingredients, folding in the almond flour until the mixture holds together but is still moist.
4. Form mixture into 4 patties.
5. Heat oil in a heavy skillet over medium-high heat until it shimmers.
6. Cook burgers until outsides are crisp and lightly browned, turning once (about 5 minutes per side). Alternatively, you could bake the burgers at 375 degrees for 10 minutes or until heated through.
NOTE: I used black soy beans (lower carb option).

We're having Indian Butter Chicken, over rice. I think I will use some of the chicken to make ds chicken strips because he won't eat the butter chicken.

I thought beans were carbs.
JRC, regular black beans are higher in carbs (approx. 22g per serving).
I used organic black SOY beans instead with have about 8g carbs and 7g fiber with net to 1g of carbs per serving.
LOL Hufi Pufi!!
I love a good beef burger too, but sometimes I want something lighter and non-meat. I was curious about Authenicnow's veggie burgers and gave it a try. They're really really good!
(Though I think I'm going to double the hot stuff next time around).

Painpaingoaway.
I make it with a raspberry vinaigrette. And throw in some fresh berries when I can otherwise frozen will work..
Missed the no access to a store part. But one of the places I used to work we also made it with creamy itailan, but I think ranch would work, or just EVOO and some lemon juice.
