Ohhhh JJ.
I second all the "red with golden highlights" I think some honey coloring would go great with your complexion and eyes.

I like the mahogany or dark auburn suggestions, and I totally think you should either tip with a bright green or peek-a-boo it ... you are young enough to work it!! Gorgeous eyes btw!
I, too, buy my hair color at Sally's ... find one near you and make friends with the cashiers. I buy the correct developer (L'Oreal brand) to help cover the gray .. and stay in the auburn zone. I go lighter in the summer and darker in the winter as well.
Post a pic when you're all done!

LOL I do not think green would fly at my office. But auburn I can do!

I liked seeing on the front page when rainbows just posted to this thread so on the main forum page I read.
What color should I dye my hair?
Rainbows
Then another member suggest a green, a nice shade of JanaGreen
Well back to business, I am not sure what exact shade but I can see you rocking many of the other suggestions.

I'm liking auburn!
I did a peekaboo color---purple. I LOVED it.
I loved it so much I want to do it again--and put in more!
The peekaboo colors are so much fun. They last a LOOOOOONG time, so make sure you love the idea before you try it.
You're very pretty, Jana, and your eyes! So lovely.
I have crap brown eyes. I love hazel, blue, green eyes. If I could tolerate contacts, I'd wear colored ones. But the thought of putting something IN MY EYE makes me freak out.

I wear contacts (not colored ones, ones that make me not blind) so that part doesn't bother me. But I think brown eyes are soulful. I thought my DD was going to have green eyes like mine, and then they darkened to hazel, and now they're heading into brown territory. I think they're lovely.

Have you considered using henna based dye? It's natural, not chemical, and is actually nurturing for your hair. Plus you can get just about any shade of red out of it, depending on how long you leave it in. See if anyone in your area has it, if you're thinking about going red.

My hair is similar in color to yours when natural, and I use henna to overdye it in a nice red. It looks natural and makes my hair feel wonderful, though it is kinda messy to apply and definitely has an earthy smell the first day. I am too sensitive to chemical dyes, but honestly I am never tempted anyway because I love how the red looks!

Lynn I have a cowlick in the front, I've always been afraid of bangs for that reason!
Amazonia, is henna expensive?
Crescita ( member #32616) posted at 5:02 PM on Thursday, February 6th, 2014
Be careful of henna if your hair has been dyed with traditional hair dyes, if mixed they will fry your hair. I really want to try henna, but my stylist won't let me.
Use whatever colour you really like, but try bangs.

Jana - I have a cowlick in front too, and I fought it until I was 30, then I decided to just part my hair where it is, and let it do it's thing, it actually gives my bangs a cute little upsweep thing. So much easier than fighting it too.

Jumping on the mahogany bandwagon. I'm digging dark hair lately, esp. with some reddish highlights. I think it's just so rich for this time or year, and really highlights eyes, esp. in folks with light complextions.
I always tell myself... it's only hair. Dyes fade, and it always grows back.
Go for it!
