I interviewed for, was offered, and accepted a promotion at work.....official yesterday!
This is a significant accomplishment for me at any point in my career, but made even more so by the following fact. 45 minutes before the formal interview 4 weeks ago I experienced a strong trigger.....my gut acted up, I checked my wife's laptop and I discovered my wife lurking OM FB page. this was something she had been doing over the past 2 years.
The events of that DD smelled and tasted sickenly similar to that of my first DD 2 years ago!
I post because
---some are following my journey and were rooting and praying for me on the promotion even before my 3rd DD.....and some DURING that trial and some right after it!
---to encourage others who read about fully committed wayward spouses but don't have one of their own, wondering how they could possibly grow while their spouse checks out and the pains continue. It can be done! Yes....to have a spouse as your cheerleader would be much nicer, but this is proof you can grow and succeed without it....and can actually do it, at times, in spite of their actions. Don't let the actions of others be a reason for your inactions.
---to thank God for what He has done. No way did I get "composed, stable and focused" on my own to handle the 2 hour, highly engaging interview all on my own. I felt his presence and it felt good!
---to thank ya'll for the support....both long standing from my original brat pack members and short-term critical-support on that day 4 weeks ago! I trusted this support would be there....and was pleasantly surprised at how instant and compassionate it flowed from you guys!
Is it weird to be grateful for that day and trigger? It was a tough day.....but a fruitful one. A bountiful harvest from so many different fields!!!!!
God is with us all.

I was wondering what the news on the promotion was. Congratulations! That's wonderful news!
