Good job informing the guy. he had a right to know. The reason for his abruptness could be for many things.
Maybe he's used to it with his wife ?
Maybe he was so pissed that he had to collect his thoughts and go confront.
Your reaching out to him and even offering to hang out to help him was a really cool thing to do.
Regarding the MC, if I had $1 for everytime I heard them shifting the blame to the BS, I would buy myself a nice boat. It has convinced me that if I ever have problems, MC is a no go. We either work it out on our own or divorce. Not all are bad but many are. Good for you in refusing to go back to that one

The guy wanted to get off the phone and end it because the odds are he probably already knew and he and his wife have some kind of open/poly agreement.
So he was just like "Oh one of these prudes" he is probably going to scold his wife to next time be sure that every one is on board so they dont call his work.
