The night the lights went out in Georgia tells a sad story

There was a song in the 80s.
Lyrics: I saw you - and him - walking in the rain. You were holding hands and I - will never be the same.
So true!

Since we're talking about You're Cheatin' Heart songs.....
If you remember Cheater, cheater, where'd you meet her, down at Ernie's bar...
[Lyrics Joey + Rory - God Help My Man]
There must be a real good reason why he ain't home yet
There must be a real bad wreck slowing him down
I'm hoping he blew a tire, his old truck flipped and caught on fire
'Cause God help my man if he's foolin' around
"Hey, does this rag smell like chloroform to you?

Nothing subtle in those lyrics...LOL
You are correct, but before I just thought it was a cool tune. After dday when I heard it, it gave me a sort of warped sense of justice when I heard it. Don't get me wrong, no cheating whore is worth risking jail time for, but it did placate the darker side of my thoughts.

Yeah, i know where old Joe is coming from...
I like Gimme 3 Steps too.
I fucking hate Bryan Adams "Run to You". I used to really like his music but I never listen to it anymore because of that song.

There are so many songs about infidelity. So many movies where the characters are caught in some kind of affair. And books! There should be some kind of warning or disclaimer to go with them.
The most common story seems to be:
1. Married person
2. Evil/cold/uncaring spouse
3. Kind/supportive/AMAZING Other Person
4. 'True love' wins in the end and the adulterous 'soul mates' ride off into the sunset on a rainbow skittles farting unicorn
It gets old. I recently read a novel for a monthly book club. I wasn't sure where the story was leading until toward the end when all of the common elements fell into place. I felt like the author kind of wimped out.
You can apologize over and over, but if your actions don't change, your words become meaningless.
Behind every crazy bitch is a sweet girl who just got tired of being lied to.

My cheating LTgf came back 8 months after I kicked her to the curb begging for another chance.....
I wish I would have been able to play one of my favorite country songs for her when I told her to go pound sand.
Travis Tritt...."Here's a Quarter, Call Someone Who Cares"
For those of you who have never heard it, the lyrics are about a WS who comes begging for another chance....and by the title you can guess what the answer is....
Always brings a smile to my face when I hear it
