How cruel to send your children off to be with another man. Although I believe the children are better off without a mother like she was.

I have no issue with the books. They are amazing tools for teaching reading. Rhyming is a key skill for beginners. When teachers use the books, there’s little talk about the author - it’s limited to his unique expression of the writing and illustration craft. Hate the author and his OWife - but the books are true gold for young readers.

I’ve always found the books to be a bit creepy . Now I know why.

Today I choose to remember the first wife and all that she suffered. God knows I had six months after dday of wishing I was dead too. I totally get why she killed her self. Poor thing. Hope she is resting in peace.
I wish her peace, but I know she will never find it now. She is not resting in peace because she was weak and fell to the temptation.
Pain makes us all weak.
We must be strong in our darkest hour to find the light.
Did you mean the first wife was weak and fell to the temptation, or the second wife?
If you meant the first wife - she wasn't weak. Enduring cancer and her husband's infidelity must have meant it took her strength beyond imagining to keep functioning each day. It was implied, by both her note and her niece, that she committed suicide as a misplaced gift to her unfaithful husband.
She wasn't weak. But she was drowned in her despair and in her husband's cruelty. She did everything she could to stay afloat, until she had no more tools left.
I very much hope that she found the peace and love in Heaven that her husband denied her on Earth.
I cannot imagine the angels would be that cruel to condemn her to suffer endlessly more.

My wishes of peace were for the first wife.
For the second wife, I only hope she’s roasting permanently in hell.

You quoted both me and someone else in the same post. I never called the first wife, “weak”.
I don’t believe suicides go to hell necessarily. For instance Judas committed suicide and I believe he’s in hell but it wasn t suicide that sent him there.
Some religions believe that suicides go to hell but not me.
