I love riddles and this may not take off but I didn't see one on here so I present my first riddle for you all. Feel free to post one if you solve this one:
People want to keep me
I'm always very quiet
Half of me is a vegetable
The other is a card up your sleeve.

I'm really bad at riddles 
I thought the shadow one was knowledge (body of knowledge). I got the river (thought brook) and wind, but only because they were in The Hobbit
