*Update #2*

Okay... we just came back from the dentist. They took xrays of her two front teeth and the roots are so long they look like they go up into her nose The dentist checked and said there is a slight wiggle but that's natural when adult teeth come in. He said it will tighten up. He said her right tooth is a little more wiggly but he said it'll tighten up.

Then when we were checking out I had to sign for the bill. It's not much and they said that the insurance company should cover it 100%.

I feel better and so does she that her tooth is going to be fine

*Update*

I finally got through to the dentist and told them what happened. They were able to get her an appointment today later in the afternoon to check her tooth. Now I'm going back and forth with my husband via text about the appointment. He's not happy about the appointment, I think he wants me to cancel because it may not be covered by insurance. Ugh... I just want to make sure there's nothing wrong with her teeth

I really could use some help, guidance or reassurance.

Some neighborhood kids came and played with my two kids. They were all playing a makeshift football game. Basically just running and shoving while carrying a football.

DD6 collided with another little boy. Her mouth hit his head. There's a little red mark on her lip and she's crying and saying her front teeth hurt. I gave her ice for her lip and checked her teeth. I can't be 100% sure but one feels like there's a slight wiggle.

Please tell me that if there is a slight wiggle it will stiffen up (for lack of a better word) if its left alone. It's her adult tooth.

She's eating a popsicle now. I told her to keep her teeth off of it.

A trip to the dentist will solve your worries. Can you get her in today?

NOT A DENTIST BUT....

I had something similar happen to my son, he fell going up the steps.

I called the emergency exchange as it was of course a weekend after hours. They told me to put some ice on it, give him some motrin for the pain and that I would know in a couple of days if any permanent damage was done. If so the root would die, and the tooth would start to change color.

There isn't really anything else you can do.

The dentist told me that when they are young new teeth, if it's not knocked out at the time of the injury they most likely will not loose it. Then he showed me how giant the roots are on those new adult teeth, it was reassuring.

Dental experience here..... Best to see your dentist. You don't want to take chances with a permeant tooth .

The mouth heals very quickly .. But I'd have the tooth checked by your dentist

Thank you! I tried calling earlier but the lines were busy. They're closed now so I'll try tomorrow. They have Saturday hours.

Thank you TN. That helps. I'm just so worried. I did give her Tylenol (ibuprofen makes her vomit) for the pain and ice.

I'd give her soft foods until then. I imagine eating will be a bit tender.

She did have a hard time eating her dinner tonight, but she did enjoy her grapes

I know you will be worried overnight and I just wanted to share a childhood experience, perhaps a little reassurance that her teeth will be fine.

I had just gotten my new adult front teeth and I cut them off while jumping through a metal swing. My dentist sewed them back in and I have never had any problems.

She will be fine.

Afraid2, that is one heck of a dentist. I didn't know they could do that.

She wasn't in pain today. I couldn't get through yesterday. I guess I just have bad timing. I'm calling first thing tomorrow.

She's been eating soft foods, yogurt, fruit cups, sandwiches etc... So far so good. I'm still afraid to touch it though.

Tonight her brother was going to give her a piggie-back ride to bed. She's on his back and he brings his head up to look forward and what happens? He bangs his head on her tooth which freaked me and her out. I'm panicky and saying "don't touch it!"

Take her. It should be covered, and if it's just a look see, and an xray, then no biggie even if it isn't covered.

Your peace of mind is more important too.

My son lost two permanent teeth while riding bike and running into a mail box. Dentist could do anything but give him a retainer with fake teeth. he doesnt wear them makes him drool and talk funny. Dont know what is next
