Our oldest DS turns 13 today Our weekend plans ended up completely messed up and I feel like a failure as a parent, but I have to remind myself that in the 18+ birthday's he has while living with us this one will still be a good one. *Sigh* DS is such a good kid, most of the time, and I just want everything to go great for him today.

Otherwise I was up at 0600 b/c I've been waking up so early for the new job I'm holding it together so far. I'll give y'all an update later

He's 13 (yay! official teenager!), and has had 18+ birthdays? Wow, you're a better parent that I am! .

I'm sure he'll have a happy birthday no matter what. He knows he's loved. Don't let messed up plans make you think you're a failure.

Don't feel bad. Now that he is 13 he won't make such a big deal over his birthdays. That was when both my kids were ready to be done with the extravagant days and preferred a few friends and pizza (Xbox for the boy an movies for the girl) and staying up all night.

He knows his momma loves him.

Happy bday

Thanks everyone. We're making the best of it with a plan that I've devised in just a few hours of planning It's not what I'd hoped for, but he seems pretty excited!
