Reconciliation :
A Switch

About a month ago I went on a weekend away with some family members but not my WH or kids. While I was away I realised for the first time in a very very long time I not only missed my kids but I missed my husband and wished e could all be there on that trip together.

When I realised that emotion I sent WH a message and told him so. Since that moment it’s like a switch has been flipped. I am enjoying being married, I’m enjoying family time, we only disagree about ‘normal’ stuff, we can go out without me losing my shit and the A rarely enters my mind.

I’m about 2 and a half years out now and I hope this is actually a true turning point for us. Not just another high on the roller coaster!

That's so inspiring, and I'm so happy for you. Thank you for spreading a little bit of hope and cheer.

Where am I going... and why am I in this handbasket?

Good.

When you consider the past and future of the relationship that was before are gone, something new can come into existence.

That's why you do not think much about the A. You probably both changed.
If a Wayward truly changes is like starting anew with a different person, because it is possible for people to change.

You are welcome to send me a PM if you think I can help you. I respond when I can.

That sounds a lot like healing -- which is a great update!

Triggers can still linger, but when you start building some new memories, it is easier to bring the focus back to current events.
