I'm following the "count down" as well!!! Crossing my fingers that Jon survived, and they won't make us wait too long in this new season to find out!

Well, did anyone watch last night?? I thought it was an interesting episode! A few surprises, a few predictable moments, and one big disappointment that I won't mention in case of spoilers.

Anyone else have thoughts?

I thought last night was a great start to the season. They usually spend a lot of time reintroducing the major story lines and the first episode can be a little boring but this one was very entertaining to me. Best line of the night was on how to dispose of the body - "feed her to the the hounds".

That was a great line, especially after he came soclose to seeming human while he was reminiscing about her. "It's perfectly good meat."

Perfectly on character.

So what about him will have changed? When the Red Priest kept raising whats-his-name, the leader of "outlaws," the leader said that parts of him never came back.

I have the feeling we're about to see Lord Commander Jon Snow the Fluffy turn into a total hardass. I cannot wait.

"I drink. And I know things."

Definitely one of the best lines ever. Tyrion has always been a favorite of mine, and I loved the scene with him and the dragons.

Absolutely thrilled that Jon Snow is back. I agree he will likely be changed in some way and am eager to see in what way.

Tommen is annoying. Such a weak, whiny boy. Cersei wonders where Myrcella came from with her sweetness? How about Tommen? He seems to have nothing of his parents' strength.

Countdown to next week. Let's keep this thread going!

I actually had hope for Tommen. I thought, "A-ha! Here's the kid who'll grow into his strength and stand up to her." It was (at the time) obvious he loved her, but he seemed to be primed to enforce his will if necessary. But the Tommen from last night? Weaksauce. And dude, do something about that crown. It's doing weird things to the shape of your hair. Your face looks bloated, your chin looks weak, and what is going on with your lips? It's like he's morphing into an uglier version of himself as he gives up more and more of his power to his mother. Or maybe my rose-colored glasses are finally off.

I absolutely loved the Wildlings' return. I cheered. I got a little sentimental seeing that wild red beard and the giant. When the Wildlings started manhandling Olly, all I could think was, "Kill him." Only GoT could make us cheer for a child's death... more than once. I think we can agree Joffrey Baratheon needed to choke much earlier and we'd all have been happy.

On that note, I strongly believe one reason we didn't see Walda and the baby's death is because the viewing audience is still half-sick from seeing the burning of Shireen Baratheon.

LET'S TALK ABOUT THE THREE-EYED RAVEN. What do you think is happening here? The Child of the Forest told Meera "He needs you" and basically stated Bran wouldn't be staying there. I thought at first the Raven was going to be training Bran up to take his spot within the tree. That may still happen, but apparently we have a lot more adventure to go on this story.

Poor Hodor. That view of him as a boy was bittersweet. Bran didn't seem to react with anything but mild curiosity, but I'd have been down there next to my friend to hear what kind of boy he had been in hopes of learning more about the man I knew.

I still want to marry Tyrion. More than ever, actually.

I liked Tommen at first, he seemed gentle and kind, but I always thought he was weak. The only question seemed to be who would be manipulating him most effectively: Cersei or Margery.

I also loved the Wildlings return, and wished there had been a battle which resulted in the death of Alliser Thorne and Olly, at the very least. When they all threw their weapons down, I was a bit disappointed. Hopefully Jon the Undead wreaks some suitable vengeance.

Agreed about the death of Shireen. This show has had many graphic and brutal moments, but that one literally made me feel sick to my stomach. And it made me HATE the Red Woman. She has partially redeemed herself now. Partially.

Not sure what's up with Bran and the Raven, but I'm glad to see that storyline back and finally moving forward. I really hope they tell us more about Hodor.

Let's have a double wedding. You and Tyrion, and me and Ser Davos. I'm very fond of both those guys!

I'm confident Bran has big stuff ahead. Epic, even.

I wonder if we'll see Rickon anytime soon.

And I am terribly curious about the current who/what/where of Littlefinger. I hate that asshole, but I'll be damned if his machinations aren't intriguing...

Was talking to my DS's GF last night about GoT. She thinks there's going to be a Stark reunion at the wall by the end of the season - Sansa, undead Jon Snow, Bran, and possibly Rickon (no Arya in her theory).

How long has it been (in the characters' timelines) since they were together at Winterfell? Years, right?

I gotta imagine so....they don't give a clear indicator on the show of how much time has passed.
