I still wonder what happened to the cards that I made for those who ended up not being able to participate.
littleturtle, the cards have always gone out to the recipients no matter if they have participated or not. Each person has taken the time to write each card, label them, and post them. It wouldn’t be fair not to send them.
It was discussed at the elf party that you just never know what place a person is in the day they sign up vs the the day of the deadline. I just hope that in years to come it doesn’t become a trend, otherwise we will have to be more strict on the guidelines of the exchange.
Chili, chocolate goes with everything, even Tequila! Thank you so much for the special contributions. There were several goodies to help us get through the night. The band aids for paper cuts were a nice touch too!
If you keep asking people to give you the benefit of the doubt, they will eventually start to doubt your benefit.

They still get the cards that everyone else sent them. The exchange has always been about giving and not receiving .
I'm super happy to hear this. As much as I enjoyed my glitter-filled mailbox yesterday, I would hate for someone who is already going through infidelity-related stress to feel the added sting of exclusion or holiday guilt.
For anyone who got a card from us but didn't send one, consider this the gift of exoneration! 🎁

And WOES, I think there is a 12 step program for this:
I have also saved every card I have received from exchanges throughout the years.

TX1995, when I arrived here, xpos had already split and was just waiting for the D to be final to M the AP he chose to leave for. JFO was months before and General seemed like a different type of population. I lived in D/S and NB. I couldn't for the life of me understand just why a site like this would have a F&G Forum! Never went there.
Maybe it was a message like the one you saw that led me there for the first time. The Christmas Card Exchange seemed like fun. I know it took a while to make it a habit to go to that foreign sounding place. I wasn't ready for it. So I guess you can be forgiven for not being familiar enough to remember after just one visit there. I understand that.

Tred, I'm pretty sure I can see my card there! Very pretty display. Thanks for posting.

I’m so going to glitter bomb everyone next year.. lol
Don’t know why I didn’t this year.
I was able to save most of the glitter into a bowl..... I almost filled a Correlle bowl . I am putting it along with last years glitter into a closed container as a reminder of the holiday greetings I received from SI. It really brightens my holidays.

Dragn,
It's there
. Is just to the left of the red card on the shelf by the window. If I took that pic a foot to the right it would be clearly visible. There's no rhyme or reason to where we put them every year, just usually the tall ones in the back and shorter ones in the front and we just set them around as we open them. Next year I'll make certain it's in the front under the tree

My son and I spent yesterday evening decorating, and then opening the cards. It was a very joyous occasion. I haven't seen my son that happy about the holidays in awhile. I enjoyed every card, note, sentiment, and piece of glitter. I had no idea it was going to be this fun.
Thank you, everyone!!! And a big special thanks to the Elves!!!
You should see your card right out front there, Dragn. Was so happy to get that one!

I am a bit worried something happened to the cards I sent since I don't see it in the pictures.
If you guys didn't get them I swear I sent them.
I had the best time opening them. This was my first year and you can bet I am going to be getting a bunch of glitter ready for next year. Thanks so much for this. It's my first post Dday December and like so many on here Christmas has become full of landmines. The cards and glitter were so cheerful. Thanks everyone!
ETA: I zoomed WAY in and found it, I am so relieved!

I don't have pictures, but this weekend, all the cards got hung up around my living room doorway, slowly sprinkling everyone with glitter that passes through for the next month!
Thanks to all of you so much for participating! This is always the best, every year. And MF, I got yours, I promise!

I got yours too MaryAnn!
The first big bunch came on Friday. When BF arrived at my house I said don't touch me I'm covered in glitter. Wish I had thought to save it though. I'm getting all sorts of ideas for next year.
(Not sure if an instagram link will work if my profile is set to private. Any ideas?)

nothisfriend: Can't see your pic - but wondering what you think of your first exchange? I know the first year I saw people talking about this *glittering* thing but had NO idea until the cards were actually in my hands.
Hoping it brought some big smiles to you!

I've been opening cards a few everyday, and I finished last night. Today the are proudly displayed all over my living room, some even taped to the wall. Lol.
I, too, saved my past cards and am thinking about adding them to the display. Maybe overkill, but they make me smile.
Maryann, yours made it.
BraveSirRobin and TimeSpiral, your card made me laugh out loud, and those glasses are super cool. My daughter loves them.
Next year, I'm going to have to step up my game.
Thanks for the smiles, joy and laughter. I wish you all a magical, Merry Christmas!
