Late to the party--and no, I don't want a moon pie--but reading most of those comments (those, not these) made me feel dirty. Ewwww.

I'm so sorry DS; what a mishigas

I could only get about 5 pages in. The comments in my view reflect what society thinks infidelity. Lately I have been spending most of my time in the Betrayed Men's thread section because its pretty safe. It struck home when DS commented about the difference between betrayed men and betrayed women. The comments bear that out. Society makes us out to be doormats and pathetic. The Menz thread is the only place where we have a true brotherhood that isn't lying to our face. The whole thing adds insult to injury which is why I only got 5 pages in.

I had to stop reading the comments, too. Direct personal attacks that were mean spirited and baseless. They were making me sick.

I felt proud of those of us strong enough to fight back against some of the meanness and ignorance on behalf of SI.

I read all the comments. Just internet trolls or people who have no clue what they are talking about. It reminds me of why I don't read comments on articles. But, in retrospect, those people have made my afternoon quite entertaining.

Was brave of you to go there DS.

Holding yourself out to public scrutiny - knowing in advance I bet - that it would generate such a reaction.

Very brave.

Who among us, who among the o-so-informed hp readers and popular posters could do this?

Not many. That's why you guys are rare. Why don't people do this?

Because it's hard.

Maybe at some future date, this is so sad to imagine but I bet it's true....some anonymous someone will come crawling in here needing mojo, you know?

Just like me.

I had the thought while reading most of the comments that few, if any, would have the strength to reconcile if they were betrayed. After all, they think it's weak to fight for the M, to give that second chance. Well I, for one, will be eternally grateful my H was "weak".

They seem to think that if the WS is immediately kicked to the curb the BS will be just fine. Which just goes to prove how utterly clueless they are. If they *are* just fine afterward then they weren't that invested in the relationship, right?
