I'm now reading South of Broad by Pat Conroy.

Sigh...I love his writing.

She packed up her potential and all she had learned and headed out to change a few things.

I love Pat Conroy too

Just finished "Father of the Rain" by Lily King and "We Need to Talk About Kevin" by Lionel Shriver. Both are highly recommended!

RiotGrrrl, I just read Lionel Shriver's "So Much for That," and thought it terrific. I am going to look for the one you suggested.

I had this overwhelming urge tonight to read a book I read about 12 years ago. A dear friend who is now passed read it and loved it. We went camping for the week and I remember reading it cover to cover, mostly lying in a hammock. I remember almost nothing about it now.. except that I LOVED it at the time. So I am going to go get it again tomorrow. It will make me feel a little like I am visiting with my friend. I miss her.

It's called "Away" and it's by Jane Urquhart.

Go softly my sweet friend. You will always be a part of who I am.

I haven't heard of Away, but I've read The Whirpool and Changing Heaven by Jane Urquhart and loved them both.

I'm reading Freedom right now. I loved the first half but am starting to bog down.

Just finished Heaven Is For Real about a little boys trip to heaven and what he saw.

Now it's back to Spurgeon's Lectures To My Students.

I've just read a review on Heaven is For Real and it sounds very comforting. Was it good?

@ Emerald Eyes, I thought it was good. Easy read IMO. Gave me a few things to think about in regards to how I've always pictured what Heaven would be like.

I am currently reading two books...one for my women's group at church and the other just for my own personal reading. For the women's group, I am getting ready to start, "Power Thoughts" by Joyce Meyer. For my own personal reading, I am reading "90 Minutes in Heaven". Next, I will probably read the missionary book I got for free in the mail

I LOVE to read....I'll read just about anything..

Right now I'm reading "I, Alex Cross" by James Patterson. I am having a hard time putting it down.

One of my very favorite books is also by him : "Suzanne's Diary for Nicholas".

I also really loved Dean Koontz's "Longest day of the year", and Stephen King's "Under the Dome" <~~~That book was totally like "Lord of Flies" but with adults who have too much power. Great read.

I finished rereading Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett and just started "Shogun" by James Clavell.

I absolutely LOVE Pillars and read it at least once a year.

So far Shogun is really good. It pulls you in almost immediately.
