OMG Skye, I think we are kindred spirits!

Last night I was reading reviews of "The Paris Wife " and decided to purchase it! I am a big Hemingway fan.

Did you like it?

Oh, and my husband and ai both loved "First Family." We finished it, and want to read more of Ellis. We read his book on Thomas Jefferson last year and it was excellent, too.

Yes, I did like it, and would love to discuss it with someone who has faced infidelity! Wish you had your PM button activated. I feel bad taking up so much time on this board. Did go out to pick up some Hemingway since reading "The Paris Wife."

Skye, I don't have the PM thing on because I get busy at times and hate feeling like I am blowing people off.

I'll let you know what I think of "The Paris Wife."

My favorite Hemingway books are :

!. The Sun also Rises

2. For Whom the Bell Tolls

3. A Farewell to Arms

4. A Moveable Feast

5. The Old Man and the Sea

In that order.

In the wife book, Hemingway is working on various books, which are not titled at that point. I think "The Sun Also Rises" is the main book of his that the wife book references. "The Moveable Feast" was also written during that period, I think. Need to do some more research!

I was aware he was an "adventurer" but wasn't as aware of his paramour proclivity. He did have four wives. The Paris wife was his first wife.

Buzz Aldrin, What Happened to You in All the Confusion - Johan Harstad.

He's from oslo and it's translated to english. It's about a gardener obsessed with Buzz Aldrin and his relative lack of fame. So far, so good, so quirky.

Just started Neil Gaiman's American Gods. Definitely a change-of-pace. Quick, light read. Hasn't really grabbed me after 200 pages.

I'm rereading the Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodkind. He is, by far, my favorite author and I've read all of his books a couple dozen times each. The Omen Machine comes out soon and I can't wait!!!

Just read The Virgin Suicides by Eugenides. Interesting style, I had not read him before. Definitely better than the movie and he's facile with the language, creates lasting images.

Just read The Virgin Suicides by Eugenides.

I just started the Virgin Suicides a couple of weeks ago. How odd is that? It was the author's first novel, and he has another book called Middlesex I read for book club. Loved that one.

She's Come Undone - Wally Lamb - I read that years ago. It was really good. I'll never get the image of her binging on the ham out of my mind.

I just finished Pride and Prejudice for the millionth time, and immediately dove into Matched - it's for my online book club and the discussion is in two days, so I have to finish it quickly. It's a YA book, but fairly interesting so far. It's a future dystopia big-brother kind of book.

Both are very good.
