You are not a doormat. Just a living and trusting wife. Stop blaming yourself over this.
If you don’t want to reconcile - don’t. Some things are deal breakers. He took a gamble and lost so if he is alone he cannot blame anyone but himself.
He made his bed - now lie in it.
Survived two affairs and brink of Divorce. Happily reconciled. 12 years out from Dday. Reconciliation takes two committed people to be successful.

Please do not be afraid to post. Just tell us what is going on and what you need. If you are second-guessing yourself and afraid of 2x4s just say so and ask for people to be tactful.
