Here's how I finally got into my husband's voice mail.

If I don't know my mailbox number, how can I access my VoiceMail?

Simply enter your 10-digit mobile phone number. You will then hear your VoiceMail recording, press the (*) key and enter your four digit pass code to retrieve your voicemails.

You do have to know the pass code but mine uses the same crap so it worked.

One message from someone I've never heard of asked him when he's leaving. and is he OK. Now I get to wonder leaving for where. Janice

all Chicago area codes: 312, 773, 847, 708, 224, 815

have backdoor voice mail number

1-815-715-9902

you call that number, enter your 10 digit phone# and pin

I am in Chicago. I called CS and told the guy I "accidently" deleted my voicemail number from the phone. I said I know I can call my own number, but I remember there used to be a different number. He said that was correct, I shouldn't use my own number. He gave me the above number +18157159902.

Ya'll do know that when you call your own number you have the option to send a message to another AT&T phone from the menus.

Just like a backdoor, but your number.

Soraya,

It doesn't matter which area code you use. You have free long distance, no? Just find one that works for you.

T-mobile....

You call customer service, tell them you can't remember the number when away from cell phone..., different numbers for different areas, they give it to you,

You dial it,

Put in other persons number,

default for voicemail is #1111 (for all the lazy people....) which I'm told by T-mobile is 97%, it's the default mail box no....

Listen to messages to the end, then hang up.

Not skipped, stay new. Tried it (I have it too, and it worked), so what they hell, they have no idea what they are doing, so busy being devious !

Messages remain as new.....

Jools

goes straight to voice mail messages....

Over it, life does get better !

Voice Mail Default PW #s from different websites:

T-Mobile Customers: Press and hold "1" to set up voice mail. You will need to set up a voicemail account password when you call in for the first time. After that press and hold "1" to call in to your voice mail and retrieve you messages. You will receive a TEXT MESSAGE on your phone telling you that you have NEW VOICEMAILS.

Sprint Customers: Press and hold "1" to set up voice mail. You will need to set up a voicemail account password the first time you call. After that press and hold "1" to call in to your voice mail and retrieve you messages. If you want to retrieve you voicemails on another phone call you sprint phone and when you hear you personal greeting press "*" and then follow the automated system.

Nextel Customers: Press and hold "1" to set up voice mail. You will need to set up a voicemail account password. Your DEFAULT password for your account is going to be your 7 digit phone number (EX: 548-0000). After that press and hold "1" to call in to your voicemail and retrieve your messages.

If you want to call from another phone to retrieve you messages on your dial 548-MAIL (6245) and follow the automated system.

Cellular One Customers: Press and hold "1" to set up voice mail. When you hear the voicemail message press "#1990", this is your default password. This will continue to be you password UNTIL YOU CHANGE IT. After that just press "1" and hold to call and retrieve voicemail.

Cingular:

QUESTION: What is the temporary password for voice mail?

ANSWER: 1111#

Help I forgot my voicemail password!

You can dial 611 from your mobile phone and customer care will reset your password to the temporary default 1111.

How do I access my GSM voicemail from my mobile phone?

Press and hold 1 to dial into your voicemail. If this is the first time you are accessing voicemail, the default temporary password is 1111.

How do I check my GSM voicemail from a landline phone?

1. Dial your voicemail number.

2. The second you hear the automated greeting, hit "*" (asterisk) and then enter the default temporary password 1111 (or the password you personally chose after setting up your voicemail) then hit "#"

3. Everything else is self explanatory via the automated voice menus.

Note: On TDMA you need to press the # key instead of *.

Is there a way to access voice mail via the cell phone without having to enter in the password every time?

On most phones you can store your voicemail password with the voicemail retrieval number.

1. Go to Messages menu.

2. Find the Voice Messages menu.

3. Find the Voice Mailbox number Menu

4. At the end of your Voicemail enter a 'p' (pause). How the "p" is entered is different with every phone. Try pressing and holding the * button, or pressing the * three times quickly. For GSM phones only 1 pause is needed. For TDMA phones 3-4 pauses is recommended.

5. For GSM phones after the 'p' enter your voicemail password with no greeting interrupt of any kind (GSM doesn't need one). For TDMA phones use a # key followed by your voicemail password.

6. After your voicemail password enter '#' (pound symbol).

Verizon: The default password is the last four of the mobile number.

DEFAULT PASSWORD is 1 + LAST 4 DIGITS OF CELL #.

NuVox :

The default password for accessing your mailbox for the first time is 9999.
