Different Voicemail "Backdoor" #'s

From different websites, none verified.

sprint: 1+1+area code+number (works even if account has been suspended)

- area code and pref + 6245 (MAIL).

U.S.Cellular: area code + first three digits + 8888. That will give you a recording asking you for a voicemail box number and you can put in any US Cellular number and go straight to their voicemail box.

T-Mobile: (area code) prefix and 9999.

Cingular: ###-8989

AT&T: *#61# send

Well, I just tried ###-8989 on my Cingular phone and got "Your call cannot be completed."

As far as the AT&T "*#61# send," I talk about the way it works (for me, anyway) near the bottom of page 2 of this thread.

I am having no luck with AT&T and Cingular... and I've been researching them a LOT! (Luckily, S is finally converting to Cingular today so I won't have to worry about AT&T anymore.)

Still looking for backdoor # for Ntelos! Does anybody know this one? If so, please post it or PM me! I have his voicemail password, I just want to check it without his knowledge. Thanks!

Edited to ask: If I get the backdoor #, how do I use it? I am a cell phone idiot--thanks for any info!

no, it's cingular and at&t that merged, not verizon.

What do you do with a back door number?

You call it and their cell phone doesn't ring, so if you have their password, you can check their voicemail with no proof on their cell phone.

Someone mentioned further up the threaad that they didnt want their H to know they had checked his voice mail.

When I call my own voice mail and dont finish listening to the message (hang up before its done) or when I press the # key to skip it, the next time you call into it you will hear "First Skipped Message"

As far as I am aware, there is no way around that. If you listen to them, he will know by hearing "skipped".

I have Ntelos, and when I get my voicemail messages, I have the option to "Save as New" after listening messages, so if I listen to his messages when he is asleep (if the phone is turned off), I can keep them as new, and he won't know I checked it.

<bumping this back to the top>

Aren't there some cellular phones that are compatable with Nextel in that you can use the two-way (walkie talkie) feature? Does anyone know what phones those are? I know Nextel and Verizon are merging. Do Verizon phones have a two-way feature that you can use to two-way a Nextel phone? Also, if you have a cell phone number, how can you tell what cell phone company the phone was issued by?

Thanks, BS

SPRINT

Finding owner's name

At the bottom of the page in red click on "rebate status."

1st go to searchbug.com and put the number into "Land or Cell phone" gives the area where the cell phone was purchased. Then go to USPS.gov (I think thats it, just do a search for zipcodes) and get all zips for that town or area. Plug them in one after the other. Be sure to get the PO box zips too (It tells you which is which).

If it gives an area like "Terminal Arizona", try calling your local sprint store and find out where the prefix originates. That will help with the zipcodes.

It's free! And sprint lets you enter as many zipcodes as you want without bumping you off.
