I'm a dog person, no a cat person, heck I love all of them!! We have six dogs: Penny and Rocky are chihuahuas, Ladybug the pekeinese, Sophie the dachshund, Daisy the boxer, and Piggy the pit bull.
Then there are my kitties: Spot, Yodie, Lucy, and Olliver.
We tried hamsters, but Spot is a really, really great mouser, so they exited stage left about 10 minutes after we brought them home. My friend likes hamsters and they were a gift to her, lol !!
Yes our house is full! Again, I love it.

Not their names (It's really Chip, Millie and TC). I loved that I got a pic of all three though. Most people don't get the Nermal reference though.

I'm a dog person. And dogs know it. When I lived in the country I had several neighbors dogs that hung out at my house. They knew they would get lots of attention .
It was almost comical to drive by place & see 5 to 7 dogs lounging in my yard.

this is too funny! I pet sit for a couple of my friends, both have multiple pets, I always call it visiting the zoo!
It's wonderful to see so many animal lovers! I wish I had the space for many more than just my kitty, but I do get to pet sit and live vicariously thru all of them!

OHHH what a fun thread !!!!!
Definitely animal lover. I grew up with "wild" cats out in the country, and my "job" was to tame them and doctor them. Grandpa then got me a pony when I was 6 (to eat the grass on the property ya know
)My neighbors had rabbits, pigs, chickens, ducks, and geese that I visited regularly. I had another pony and a horse for a while.
I did not have my own dog until I was in my early 20's and I got a sharpei named ChrisMoose (born at Christmas time) that we called Moose. We had many cats over the years, especially the early ones when we lived in apartments, they were all so different and so unique.
Currently I have no pets, but my kids do, we have fish, (have had birds, but none currently) have one cat (had 5 recently as I found a litter abandoned, but they all found homes), and 4 dogs (two mini schnauzers, one boxer mix and a new border collie puppy)
Someday when there is more room in our home I hope to have a dog of my own again, I love gettin to "borrow" a kids dog now and again, but miss having my own special friend.

We have a tendency to think the love offered us is a reflection of our worth and value. But in actuality,it's a reflection of the person that is giving it.We love out of who WE are-not because of who the receiver is.At least in terms of real love.TSMF

I haven't been on SI for months but those who do remember me will recall that I eventually ended up mostly posting about animals anyway.
I am a total cat person, but also a dog lover and truly a total animal person!!
I have 5 cats, all rescue of course: Sisters Tiffany and Crystal are 7 years old; Brothers Smokey and Sparky are 5 years old; and Starlett is 4.
I had a wonderful rescue dog Holly (RIP) and have fostered other cats or dogs at various times but right now just have my 5 kitties....LOVE them all!

I didn't post exactly what we have since well, i don't know how long we will have them (selling stuff) but here is the current list:
- 3cats (Oden and Annie are siblings we got from the neighbour tenant, cougar was a kitten I found alone in the shed after scaring off the raccoon...the mom and 3 other kittens were never seen again). Oh and since the Neighbours left for the cottage one of Oden and Annie's siblings that got outside has adopted Me!!! She's not in the house but comes into our breezeway at night.
- Berlue. 7 yr old male chihuahua wh brought home as a surprise for me. All this dog does is lay on the sofa under the blankets and snore
Deigo: African Grey parrot
Hogan: cockatiel
2 green parrotlets
2 bearded dragons
2 leopard geckos
1 created gecko
1 common Nile monitor
1 ornate Nile monitor
2 sand skinks
1 pixy frog
1 whites tree frog
1 alligator snapping turtle
3 fly river (or pig nose) turtles
2 ornate box turtles
1 Florida box turtle
1 three toe box turtle
3 Sulcatta tortises
2 snakes
1 two foot lungfish
2 tailless whip scorpions
And to think before we moved that list was twice as long.

We are critter people:
Currently we have 5 dogs, 4 cats, and 2 rabbits. These are by far the biggest numbers we have had but I have some seniors in there that will not be replaced.
Dogs: Belle is an 11 year old Beagle, Snap is an 8 year old mystery mix, Teddy is a 7 year old Chow/Shepherd mix, Patch is a 4 year old Pit/Dalmatian mix, and Chance is a 10 month old Pit/Basenji mix. All of them have their stories because they were all rescued. Chance was my most horrific one. When we got him, the lady who had him was starving him. He weighed 27 pounds at 6 months old and every single bone in his body was visible. He basically didn't leave my couch for 2 weeks because he was so weak. I know he would not have lived if he had stayed there for another week. He now weighs over 40 and still could put on a few pounds and to the annoyance of Patch is extremely playful with her. She tolerates him in her princess style.
The 4 cats are Bonnie 6, Clyde 9, Nala 5, and Mojo 2. Bonnie and Clyde were Wal-Mart parking lot kitties, Nala was a neighborhood stray, and Mojo came from Joplin as a six week old kitten, was raised with Patch (of all animals) and is now the ruler of the house, or so he thinks.
The two rabbits were SUPPOSED to be fosters. Their owner moved out of state last September. Another friend had them and couldn't keep them so we took them in November. They are still here and the owner never checks on them, so I consider them ours. I really need to rehome them. They live in my garage. Harvey is a huge 10 pound solid white rabbit and Midnight is a smaller solid black rabbit. Sweetest things on Earth but they can't come in the house because my dogs would eat them and they create huge messes. I can say after having them, rabbits are not our thing, even though I would help one in need in a heartbeat.
I will say this though. I don't do feathered or scaly. Tortoises and turtles are ok, but snakes, lizards, etc. are a no and so are birds. My friend has some and I cannot take them. Kudos to those who can, they are just not my thing.

I don't have any pets. When I need some puppy snuggles, I just borrow one of my best friend's dogs.
Here is his latest rescue. She is such a sweet little baby. This is her laying in my bed:
This is one of his other ones. She is my favorite and is currently at my house:

No one changes unless they want to. Not if you beg them. Not if you shame them. Not if you use reason, emotion, or tough love. There is only one thing that makes someone change: their own realization that they need to.
