Well now the u/s tech I am supposed to see at 3:45 today will not be in due to the weather. Excuse me while I go bang my head against the wall.

Jana-
My MIL wokrs as a practive manager for a MD. Call your MDs office, let them know that you need to have this ultrasound and they will find a way to make it happen (assuming it is not an office with only one ultrasound tech). If the receptionist is not helpful request to speak to the practice manager or your MDs nurse.

Making you wait is cruel. If the rest of the office can get in with the weather then so should the US tech (unless he/she lives in a remote area and was snowed in.)
I live in a snow state. We still have to go to work, even on days I wish they'd cancel appts and let us close.
I just looked at your location....I know in the south this weather is not normal and it makes things difficult for travel. Can your doctor make you an appointment at the nearest hospital?

We're in the northern edge of the storm. It's not as bad as Atlanta because we are better equipped as far as road treatment but it is still fairly bad. My daughter's daycare is closed for the first time in the 3.5 years she's been going there. However my office, which is 5 minutes from my OBGYN, opened at 11. I just called my family doc to see if they had any advice & they are closed.

Did you call to see if one of the crisis pregnancy centers could get you an ultrasound?
I would be doing myself more harm worrying and waiting at this point then if i were to get an ultrasound at a center.

Undefinabl I found one close by & they are closed today. Maybe I just need to take a deep breath an realize that if everyone is closed, I need to chill out & stay put.
What frustrates me is that my office is open & they are generally pretty conservative. But yet, my daughters daycare is closed so I am here with her. I COULD try the ER but I hate to take up resources for a non-emergency. :(
