"Lost Memory of Skin" by Russell Banks and "The Stranger's Child" by Alan Hollinghurst and listening to "Clara and Mr. Tiffany" by Susan Vreeland, among others!
Ms. Panda, I've been waiting for "The Snowman" for over three months from my library! Hope it is worth the wait.

My read of shame: Jennifer Rardin's "Jaz Parks" books. About freaking vampires. *sigh* So uncultured! Total trash and I'm addicted.

I finished Chris Bohjalian's Secrets of Eden in about 2 days. Stupid title for a decent mystery. He also wrote Midwives which I loved.
Now reading The Imperfectionists by Tom Rachman. The writing is very good.
She packed up her potential and all she had learned and headed out to change a few things.

Yeah, the writing was very good. One of those novels where the journey itself is far more compelling than the memory of the journey. I don't think he knew where he was taking us, and his views on relationships and infidelity are rather childish. I was disappointed, given my background in journalism.
I recently finished Haruki Murakami's 1Q84, and am currently working my way through Justin Cronin's The Passage.

IQ84 was, I thought, very good. Quite interesting. I had not read him before.
The Passage is a lot of fun.

I'm also reading Know It All: A Man's Humble Quest To Become the Smartest Person In the World by A.J.Jacobs. He also wrote the Year of Living Biblically. He is a funny writer. I love his books.

Do we ever meet a likable character? I'm finding myself putting it down and picking up other books because I can't relate to any of them yet.
