I finished it in the middle of the night.
I can't even digest it all at this point.
I am unhappy with the ending.

I haven't finished it yet. I'm not getting the reading time I wanted to get because of the work situation.

I should amend that to I am both happy and unhappy with the ending.
Sorry work is getting in the way for you, Kdny.
But honestly, this is not a book to rush through.
I'm going to have to probably sit down and read it again to get all the things I missed the first time.
You are doing it the better way, I am sure.

I couldn't help worrying the entire time that she was going to have sexual tension with K'vruck. I wouldn't put it past her. I mean, he chuffs. Dogs and horses, they chuff. *Nobody* is going there, right? I don't want to get five books down the road and have to deal with a K'vruck/Kat/V'lane triangle.

It nagged him, in particular, that none of the girls he’d known so far had given him a sense of unalloyed triumph.

..i just have to ask..after reading this entire thread..
" how can ANY man possibly measure up or even come close to the ultimate 'man-cock' everyone here seems to be drooling over..
..the punishing, cruel, pillow-liped kissing, gang-raping Beast of a man portrayed by the lead character, Barrons, in these supernatural sex filled
smutfest 'romance novels ??
..i read all 8 pages of posts and i can't help but draw the conclusion that women are really from Venus and speak an entirely different language than us menz from Mars..
..this insight into the minds of the fantasy world of women, where men are described here in this book thread, and held up to be the kind women long for, is an insult to me as a man.
..do real women want cruel, punishing kisses and do they fantasize about the joys of being raped by a handsome man-beast to achieve 'supernatural sex'..???
..i gather that this Barrons character isn't a tender, sensitve and caring lover who looks after the woman's orgasm 'first' kinda guy..
..i guess i will just never understand the sexual mind of the 'opposite' sex..
..for any men reading this thread...??? do YOU get it??? cuz i sure as hell don't and i'm not sure i even want to..
..now.. back to reading my copy of 'Popular Mechanics'
LOL
..and by the way.. i still love you wimmenz on this site..including all of your 'peculiarities' for 'literature'!!!???

Barrons is NOT pillow-lipped. He has a *cruel mouth*.
Take it back!
It nagged him, in particular, that none of the girls he’d known so far had given him a sense of unalloyed triumph.

Barrons has never raped the heroine.
I certainly don't fantasize about that.
The heroine did get raped in this series and it *messed her up*.
But Barrons and his cruel manlips didn't do it.
And he didn't have sex with her when he was all beasted out, either.
It came close when he lost control but he was still more of a man.
It's a fantasy.
Certainly not something I've ever longed for but still very enjoyable to read.
P.S. I can safely say that the woman orgasmed first...and second...and third... etc.

No! Manifestly untrue! Cruel mouths and pillow lips are opposite things!
Order of orgasm is irrelevant since he never loses his erection!
He pissed a circle around her a couple of times but it was onaccounta them being on a dangerous camping trip while he was in his 9' triple horned demon beast form and he was just protecting her from other predators!
He is also a druid *and* a sorcerer, owns a giant bookstore, and has 40 cars or something including a Bugatti Veyron! I think! And a Countach!
One time he met John Stamos on a plane, and Stamos told him he was pretty.

It's cute to have boys paying attention to us!
So I think my biggest unanswered question at this point is probably about the flashback earlier in the series to the "our brightest star, our world" thing. Unsure if she used "our" because her POV was shared with Barrons or if it was to indicate that Barrons himself was thinking in "our" terms, like it applied to the other guys as well. I wouldn't think it would be...err...any woman he consorted with, let's say, in his mortal or immortal life, unless it's an object lesson in understanding that if you're like 4000-10000 years old you could really be in love more than just the once.
Regardless, the only thing I've been able to think of is that it was a fae who made him Pri-ya, which is how he (and Ryodan) knew what to do about it. Which begs the question of who boned Barrons back into his head, because he'd be one more problematic Pri-ya.
Also, Dani is going to have to stop talking like that if she's going to have her own book/series. I don't mind her speech as a side character but ugh, not as a lead.

I think he next release isn't anything to do with this series.
But when she picks this series back up she will probably start with Christian.
She left him in such a bad way and in limbo and Dani's character is too young and has at least one or two more books of us watching her mature before there is a book of her own (if ever).

Which of course means she needs to GETOUT GETOUT GETOUT!!!

Loves the series and read the last book on my new NOOK. I thought it was good. I don't know if the build up made me somewhat disappointed, but I felt that the relationship between Barrons and Mac was not deep enough. It just seemed to miss something. After waiting 5 books for this, I guess it was hard to live up the anticipation.
And to the guy who was wondering about what women want....
We want a strong sexy guy who seems tough on the outside but is tender on the inside...even if he just shouw that side to us. And can do it all night long...
