Another IT person here... I'm now the only IT person for a tomato processor. Our production season is starting in less than two weeks and I am officially losing my mind.

I can't decide if crazy people flock to IT or IT drives them crazy. To quote one of my favorite developers, "Computers would be great if it weren't for all the damn people who use them."

Yes.

Hi everyone

High School teacher for 35 years.

They say that "those who can do, those who can't teach".

I've had lots of practice at teaching. I love it. I love teenagers and I love making a difference in their lives.

I think I will die in the classroom. I don't really want to retire. I would LIKE to die in the classroom (not in front of my kids obviously )

I would actually love to get involved in teacher education.

But I would miss my students too much if I wasn't in the classroom.

Yep. Sign me up for the loony bin!!!

But if they're stunted, why would anyone want to look at them??

I now work in an international organization not the UN but similar lines.

I work in HR and am responibks for all remuneration matters for our 2500 staff.

Prior to that.. I worked as a nanny for a European Royal Family. Wont say which one... Sorry!

Got to live in a castle and have breakfast with little princes and princesses.

Sounds glamourous until you remember that royal kids also need their diapers changing and their noses wiping!!!!!!

I'm an Licensed Practical Nurse.

I work mainly the medical floor and the ER. I love my job, as draining as it can be. And navigating on call work while being a single parent is going to be interesting

Was super fun explaining my broken knuckle the night I caught the shitface

I actually kicked the shit face out for cheating, the first time, when I was going through school. Here I am, again, 7 years later.

I think my work history is rather diversified, but for the past 11 years I have made my living as a University Professor, teaching online.

I earned my Ph.D. in 2010 and tried teaching face to face at a local university for a year but I prefer teaching online so that is what I do.

Before that, I taught High school math and comp. science.

Before that, I taught Elementary Gifted.

I was a SAHM throughout most of my first M and did not start college until the age of 30, after being out of high school for 12 years. During that time, I did some jobs to help make ends meet including milking cows, doing other work on farms, and transporting Amish. Yes, really. After my D from my first H, but before getting my first job as a teacher, I worked as a truck stop waitress. I was a waitress when my current H, a blue collar man, first met me. We have talked through all this and he has admitted he loves being married to me, Dr. Bobbi_sue, but admits he thought he was marrying blue collar/farm girl/waitress Bobbi_sue so we had some adjusting to do in our M through the years.

@Clarissa

Clarissa you said:

Seems I'm one of the few blue collar workers who's posted so far.

I have definitely noticed that blue collar types are less likely to join this forum for some reason. My XH is a truck driver and I am sure that plenty of truck drivers would have reason to join this forum, but after being on this forum for over 7 years, I have not really heard even one story where either the BS or the WS was a truck driver.

DS7 once told me when he grows up, he wants Aussie's job. I said "oh, and what does Aussie do?" he replied "Flies on planes, sleeps in hotels, and eats in restaurants."

Aussie is a project manager/installer for a life support equipment company.
