The ceramic water dish I am using Oden uses to play with while on his back. He picks it up and rolls it around with on four paws while on his back.
All three kittens also grab my feet/legs when I am trying to put food out for them. Makes it difficult to walk!!
And Annie and Oden like sleeping inside my tissue box...but first they have to take out all of the tissues...

I used to know a woman who's cat loved to take a shower. He'd sit on the side of the tub and howl until she went in and turned on the shower. He'd then jump in and sit there while the water ran over him. If she turned the shower off, he'd start howling again. It was hilarious.
No one changes unless they want to. Not if you beg them. Not if you shame them. Not if you use reason, emotion, or tough love. There is only one thing that makes someone change: their own realization that they need to.

He must want to live by a lake and catch fishes.
I had a cat that played in his water dish until he matured a bit. We kept the water in the basement, so when it spilled it was just on the concrete floor.
I also had a cat that would swim in our pool and float on our air mats, he was fully armed with all his claws, but he loved to lounge and float about the pool.
The Crazed 1 year old I have now, enjoys baths. When the tub is being filled she is right there, and then when we are done bathing we bring her in, wash her up, she has even fallen asleep while in the tub I think it's the warm water that gets her.
They are fun, and crazy, and make life interesting for sure.

Love this thread and love my cat!
Industrial strength velcro worked for me. I feed and water my cats on a plastic tray and use the velcro on the bottom of the water dish. Worked well and cheap enough that I could have several water dishes to use interchangeably...

Well if you name a cat Oden, you can't expect him to be afraid of water.
We had a cat that used to get very annoyed when we came back from Tim Horton's, until we started bringing her an apple fritter TimBit. After a couple of weeks, the lady that worked there asked us why we were always buying just one to go. Telling her it was a cat treat didn't seem to help her.

ROFLMAO...as the owner of several (understatement) cats your stories are fantastic. While I don't have water cats I do have several hairdressers, a Jeep and a Monkey.

My four year old dd named all of the cats. I think she's got some psychic abilities lol.

My great Dane was like that only he would drink the coffee. I can't count how many coffees I lost to him lol
Oden has learned a new trick. Spill the water dish then topple the food dish into the split water. I guess he prefers soft food?!?
Annie tried to climb into my croc (yes I wear them but they are purple so I couldn't resist
) while my foot was still in it.

I have a female cat, who must have been born next to a creek...She loves the water...She loves to play in the water dish and slide it around...We have a self watering dish and when it gets low, she flips it, so you know it is empty...
When you get out of the shower she is jumping in to chase the last of the water down the drain...She sits and cries for me to pour her water so she can bite it and play in it..
I have had lots of cats over the years but this is the first one who cries for you to pour her water....

Don't let Oden see you turn on the bathroom faucet. My cat watched me and must have taken notes. Next thing I knew the water would be running in the bathroom and I'd find him in there having a ball! He stopped on his own, don't know why...
But a water pistol is a challenge to him. I tried it to keep him off the counter. But he scrunching down, closes his eyes and takes it like a man - refusing to budge. The only way that stopped was mandatory time out - outside.
They are entertaining!

The cat that loved the apple fritter... well her sister was a coffee cat. Every morning she would be up on the kitchen table, dipping her paws into a near empty coffee cup and licking the coffee off. When she was done with that she would go over to the ashtray and dig out a cigarette butt and try to chew on it. Just couldn't start her day without coffee and a cigarette. She also used to attempt to talk... long strings of noises that sounded like complete sentences, except she could not form key sounds since cats don't have control of their lips. Then when we tried to figure out what she wanted she would get this exasperated look on her face because the stupid humans could not understand their own language.

My Dane loved coffee too. You couldn't leave a cup of it sitting on a table, or a coffee table, she would lap it all up. She would do the same with white wine too.
Ah Pets....They bring so much enjoyment....

Our cat used to get in the shower with us. It scared the living sh*t out of me the first time I felt something rub against my leg. I look down and there she is meowing with the water on her.
When my ds was smaller, I'd let his bath tub fill up with water while I was in his room helping him gather his toys for his bath time. i'd go back in and our cat would be splashing all over. I had a picture somewhere of it. She is such an oddball but we love her.

Loved your weird cat story.
I have 3 Maine Coons, the biggest is 20 lbs. I use a very heavy ceramic water dish that he just sticks his paw in wets it and licks the water off it. We keep the toilet seat down and that's about it.Maine Coons tend to like water. Don't think I'd like to clean water up everyday.
I know you like animals and felt bad when you had to get rid of your dogs.
Hope your little kitties are neutered and spayed because they can start reproducing between 9-12 months. That could give you a loooot of kitties to feed or find homes for. LOL
Sometimes it lasts in love but sometimes it hurts instead....Adele
