I wanted to come on here and let you all know that my father lost his battle with cancer/MRSA on Tuesday afternoon. He died at 3:45.
But, he died in his own home, surrounded by his family. We all had our hands holding him as he went. It was peaceful, calm, and a blessing that he is no longer suffering. We were able to fulfill his wishes and one of the last things he told me was that I was "doing a good job". High praise from a man of few words but a man of much love.
My heart is heavy, but my soul is light because I know he is no longer in pain, and we let him go freely, with no loose ends. I even got to fix him a shrimp dinner for the last meal he ate (I didn't know it would be his last at the time).
The world is a poorer place without the him, but he is at peace and no longer suffering. For that, I am grateful.
I'll be back later. I just wanted my SI peeps to know he had passed, and passed as he wished. Love to you all.
E.L.

I'm so sorry for your loss. What a gift and testimony to your dad that you were all with him at the end. I sure that helped give him a sense of peace.
