Yesterday was a balmy high 50s (Central PA), today is in the 30s with rain turning to snow tonight. Prediction has changed from 3-5" to 1-3" overnight (phew!).
This year I have a footlocker on my front porch filled to the brim with bags and big plastic shaker containers of ice melt. My plan is to blanket my driveway and front walk in so much salt the snow can't possibly ever stick. Ever.
We'll see how that works for me...

I'm from a very snowy area and can't for the life of me figure out how this is a topic for FUN & Games!
I'm far from there now and heading even farther south, and won't miss it one bit! If I could be guaranteed a winter like 2 years ago with warmer temps and only one month of snow that amounted to way less than half of the normal snowfall, it would be bearable to me. We normally measure single snowstorms in that amount! But I guess I don't mind seeing it in pictures as much as out *my* window.

When I woke up this morning to let my herding dog out, it was feeling like MINUS ONE unstead of 6!
He was doing his diving porpoise-like thing out in the front yard snow drifts.
I am still wearing my flip flips...Crushed1, you know how I am round cold or wet weather!

We had light snow again this evening n it was like 4 inches....I fed the wild birds early in the afternoon and their feeding deck was crowded with doves and other native bird species -- I live on a huge avian flyway so they must be fed in this frigid climate as they head for Calif.
The tiny birds had a well stocked bird feeder, too.
We also have a "lake effect" from Pyramid
Lake and its affecting Tahoe, too.

So loving the pics of the snow.
Extraordinarily pretty.
Where I live in OZ it NEVER snows. NEVER.
This afternoon I had a swim. It's almost 10 pm here and I might just have another one before bed.
ETA: Forgot to say our pool isn't heated. Temps in the last week have been consistently 90+
So while you guys shovel snow and build fires I'll work on my tan

Laura - enjoy it for all of us shivering in the other hemisphere.
Air temp at the moment: - 3 F
Current wind chill: -14 F
No snow on the ground. More importantly, no ice on the ground. Just unnecessarily rude temps.

It's still warm enough to swim in some parts of this hemisphere...
Like Florida where it was 85° today...
I would prefer a little chilly air to head this way... no snow or ice tho, thank you very much.

Ohio got the gamut yesterday - rain, freezing rain/sleet and snow. SW Ohio, where I am, got the freezing rain/sleet which changed to snow. And for some reason, people who live here forget how to drive in this weather. Heard of 2 accidents on the highway before 6 a.m. yesterday. No serious injuries from what I heard, thank goodness but bad enough to partially shut down the road.
I really don't like winter. I have problems with cold. I'm the one bundling up in blankets when temps get in the high 40s/low 50s. I do like snow though... but only to look at. Don't like being out in it. So, all you living where temps are in the 70s or above...

The snow is pretty on the ground, but I agree with the person who asked if this is really a F&G topic. Lol
Side note: I am from Canada. I enjoy winter for the most part. I just would like to have a milder winter than what I had to deal with today.

Just received a storm warning for our area -- 5"-8" tomorrow
At least I don't have to go anywhere tomorrow (except outside to shovel).
Really really need to move south...
edited to change 5' to 5" (sheesh, I can't type)
