So my husband and I were talking tonight about men shaving their private area. I've seen on this forum (and others) where the subject has come up in regards to women, and many women these days shave that area for a variety of reasons. Tonight my husband and I were talking about men shaving, and I casually mentioned that I thought a lot of men shaved these days. He disagreed with me.

I really have nothing to base it on other than what I have read on the internet. But I have seen this question come up in other forums that are dedicated to relationships and sexuality and it seemed that a large percentage of men said that they do shave their private area, partially for comfort, partially as a courtesy to women who may venture down there.

I know this can't be answered with positive facts, but am I the only one who thinks it is becoming more of an expectation that men are clean shaven down there or has my imagination blown it up?

I do countless physical exams on young male college students and I have been astounded on how many shave. They seem to think the sleeker look helps with their athletic endeavors. I dunno maybe they think pubic hair gets caught in their jock strap.

Let me shed some light on this subject. My WH started shaving at the start of his betrayal. He did it because he thought it made his dick look bigger!

Um, not so much!

I like FWH to man-scape so he trims and shaves. He started about 7 years ago, after I suggested it. I get waxed (much better then shaving for me).

My husband shaves. Started long before the A at my suggestion. I um...like licking his um...balls. I would not if they were hairy monkey balls.

I polled all the men in the Tred household and it was unanimous: personal preference. I don't see anything wrong with grooming yourself if that's what you enjoy.

I don't like how men look totally shaved, so I would never ask a guy to do it for me. If that's his preference, though, that's fine.

I personally do not like the shaved look on men... don't get me wrong, I don't like hairy men, in general... but if I was with a man who was completely shaved I am not sure how I would feel about that.

Never liked it. The stubble would stab my girlie bits and THAT WAS NOT FUN!

I shaved it all off one time when I was in college. The next day, my scrotum felt like sandpaper against my thighs. I also got horrible ingrown hairs for months that left scars that lasted for years. It was absolutely horrible. I like to keep it neatly groomed now but I'll never shave it again.

I trim and do some shave'n. I don't care for the "smuggle'n a squirrel" look.

Bare is not a good look, but I do like my junk to be nice and neat. Many of my friends think the same. Some are just too dang lazy to make any "presentation".

Bare on me or my GF is not good, imho. I have two kids, son and daughter. Takes me back to the "tar" diaper days. When that gets in your mind, forget it...I don't even think Viagra would work.

Fwiw, my hubs keeps some neatly trimmed hair up top. It's just the boys he keeps shaved for me. Nothing like going down and having to pick pubes outta your mouth. He's been doing it so long he doesn't get razor rash.

I do like it nicely trimmed and smoothly shaved on the penis but no other shaving. I like my man to have a happy trail and hair on his chest arms and yes even his back. Lol.

The neatly kept garden makes for a much nicer time in the bedroom.

DH has no need to make anything look bigger, and while he's trimmed it up a time or too, i prefer the non-styled way.
