Same thing in H-town JJ. It's been raining for like 3 weeks straight and the forecast doesn't show it letting up (for whatever a forecast is worth). Still, we needed the rain AND it's brought very nice temperatures with it. Here's hoping the trend continues.

I would be flying into Dallas solo and wondering if there are any other ladies traveling a distance and going solo?

Looks like the weather pattern's holding normal, we're getting cool mornings, and not-too-hot afternoons. Looks like we picked a good weekend for comfortable weather. October morning's average below 60, so it may be advisable to pack a light sweater/jacket...
Strangest thing though, I often laugh with ppl in Texas @ how they're wearin flip-flops & shorts when I'm bundled up...IDK, maybe they're transplants from Michigan, New York, or Canadeh somewhere, never figured it out.

Howdy folks (as Big Tex would say). Heard something on the news yesterday I wanted to share. It's something that happens every year and I wanted to give everyone who's not familiar with the State Fair a heads up. The fairgrounds are not on the best side of town, and are surrounded by residential neighborhoods. For years now there have been reports of homeowners allowing people to park in their driveways and yards for a fee, which is usually a good bit less than parking at the fairgrounds. Unfortunately, not all of them are honest. They'll have cars towed for being parked illegally on their property, and then get more people to park there and do the same thing over and over again. There's been times the people pulling this scam aren't even the homeowners. The city requires anyone allowing people to park on their property to have a license from the city of Dallas. If you're tempted to park in this way, ask to see their permit, and even then to be honest, I'd be leery. I'm not making a blanket accusation against anyone who lives in that area, but every year the stories of this happening are rampant. I just want everyone to be safe, and enjoy their time at the fair.
As far as my being at the gtg, it's still up in the air. The show I'm in opens that weekend and I'll be at the theater Friday and Saturday nights. Depending on what the plan is for Saturday night, I might try to make it for that.
Dday: over a period of three days 11/14-16/2012.
EA/PA: ~ 2 1/2 years
EA/beginning PA: ~ 10 months
Hoped I'd never have to add this: Dday #2 11/22/2015 Not sure how far it went yet but have a pretty good idea.
