That whiskey looks tasty there Losfer. Good nightcap. If you look closely, directly behind that bottle of Superieur above is that same 291 bottle (to the left of the Colorado Gold rye). Good stuff. Definitely a spry whiskey but the charcoal filtration brings out the sweetness. Some green apps notes in there. Good stuff.

Interesting how we all went hard liquor tonight.
I had a hella day today (that's NorCal slang for awesome) with a shit-ton of emails and phone calls and meetin's and stuff. All good but I was slammed all day......
And then my IC sent me a message saying she had me down for 3pm and dayum, it weren't in my calendar but that don't mean I weren't a REAL appointment with that fine sanity-inducing piece of humanity. And you don't mess with your IC, knowhutImean? Cuz when you need, I mean NEED a good head shrinkin' you need a good shrink at your beckandcall.
I felt bad but not for long because I was just loving work. I was on a ROLL. Then, I got home from the last meetin' a few hours ago and just collapsed. A Hop Stoopid jumped outta the fridge a while back and then disappeared like it was only 12oz. Whatthefuckover? That was a tall bottle, where'd it go? I must have been thirsty.
So, backoff woman. Shower and trying to wind down and I'm SO SONE with beer. I need some hard stuff. All I can see at the front of the cabinet is some apple brandy.
Now, I'm not going to pretend it's Calvados because you and I both know it's not. It's Laird's ~Old~ Apple Brandy from Scobeyville NJ on the right side of the USofA. And it's fine and I'm sure it would stand up proud next to some snooty French distillate. I just wish Martinelli's would get with the program and start treating their apples with more respect (and some yeast) because Watsonville is awfully close to Scobeyville in timbre if not culture.

NomNomNom YOP. We'll have to look for some of that bad-boy today! Settled for a little JDs on the rocks as a night cap and then off to bed.
heartbroken_kk, I hear your pain. I HATE it when my open bottle of beer somehow just disappears .... it's like an invisible person has snuck in under my nose and sucked it dry. Maybe beer vampires? As long as the damned things don't leave sparkles or glitter.
Na, no You're #1 finger salutes. I try to practice some Aloha by just muttering ASSHOLE at the top of my lungs occasionally, but successfully dealing with boneheads whose only certification to be able to drive a boat is a credit card and respiration, is sort of like doing the 180. Any attention and they are all over you like ants on a soda can.
Well, off to work (and NO hangover, yahoo!) and then shopping for cigars and liquid comfort! Ta!

oops heartbroken. Don't want to mess with the IC gods. I hear ya on that. Off to mine in a few minutes myself. Hold the apple brandy for when I get out. Gonna need it tonight. I may just end up going for the cask strength stuff. Feel a rough evening coming on.
In fact, I'll take a wee drop of that apple brandy before I head out please. And thank you.

WHY AM I ONLY JUST NOW OPENING THIS THREAD??
Oops, sorry for yelling, especially considering there may be a few folks still feeling the effects from last evening. I should know better, and it won't happen again
Anywho, any bar stools available tonight at O' Stereotypes? Always looking for a good Scotch on a Friday night.

What an after dinner menu Skan! I'll be right over.
MoS, you didn't specify but I have been enjoying this bottle or Glenmorangie Companata. Fantatic stuff. Hope you enjoy it.

YOP - I was eyeing the Companta a few weekends ago but instead went with a known quantity (and favorite) that is the original Glenmorangie. I've never a regret with the original, but I think I ill broaden my horizons based on your suggestion. Been scrolling through here building a bit of a "new things to try" wishlist in general. Good stuff.

Love the original MoS. You really can't go wrong with Glenmo. The companta is aged in burgundy wine casks so you get a lot of the rich fruits like black cherry, black raspberry and currant. Fantastic stuff and it's only out for a limited time. A bit pricey but worth it.

Good evening everyone. So my therapist told me last night that I need more outlets to relax. She wants me to go back to playing music. I haven't done that regularly in a long while. So since it's Dr's orders (my C is a PhD), thought I would play this bluesy number for you. There's a piano here too if anyone wants to play along.
Anyone here have any relationship issues? No one?
Badger how about you? Ok geeze... just a question. You don't have to be so hostile about it.
Really? No one here at O'Stereotypes with any relationship issues? I find that hard to believe.
Oh wait... Koda is raising his paw. This one is for you buddy. This is My Curse. I hope you like it.
Oh and I was in the mood for some spice so I have a bottle of rye on my amp. Please help yourselves.
You hurt me baby
I flinch so when you do
Your kisses scourge me
Hyssop in your perfume
Oh, I do not fear you
And slave I only use
As a word to describe
The special way I feel for you
You look like me
And I look like no one else
We need no other
As long as we have ourselves
But I won't cry about it
Every time you get obsessed
Every time I came undressed
All ugly thoughts are gone
I'm sure we'll all be friends
I'll try to break your back
You'll try to make amends
Curse softly to me baby
And smother me in your love
Temptation comes not from hell but from above
And there's blood on my teeth
When I bite my tongue to speak
Zip me down, kiss me there
I can smile now
You won't find out ever
Hurt me baby
I flinch so when you do
Your kisses scourge me
Hyssop in your perfume
Oh I do not fear you
And slave I only use as a word to describe
The way I feel when I'm with you
If I have to lie about it everytime I came undressed

Skan - how was the Cognac/cigar night? I hope you and your H had a good time celebrating his b-day!
Hey yop, DD2 (Dear Dog 2, a.k.a. Koda) was flattered and enjoyed the serenade!
That Colorado Rye is a nice whiskey with a bit of spice to it. Great selection!
Currently sipping on an O'Dell's St. Lupulin Extra Pale Ale (note the matching glass).
I'll jam along with you as soon as I get this fresh set of GHS Boomers put on (you can see the Boomers on one side of the headstock, and my pegwinder/wire cutters on the other side). Note the broken E string. My son did that, because he is a shredder.
We'll have a house band put together here shortly, I'm sure.
Cheers!!

Dude! Nice PRS!!! Love it. How's the action on it? Bet it's like a hot knife through butter. I almost got one when they first came out and have regretted not getting one.
Gold face on the amp. Marshall?
When I'm done putting the kids to bed I'll take a pic of that Telecrapster I have leaning on my amp and head back to the bar. I did some custom work to it.

Thanks, yop! The action is just right. Nice deep, woody tone, too. Yes, that is a Marshall MG250DFX combo amp. My wife bought both of these for me about a year or so after I quit gigging and recording.
My rig while I was still an active musician was a Jackson Dinky Professional with a reverse headstock, a Peavey Bandit that I gutted and turned into a rack mount unit, a Peavey 4x12 slanted cab, and an ART SGE Mach II digital effects processor with the MIDI foot pedal, and a Cry Baby wah. Ah, memories.
Would love to see a full shot of that Telecaster. I've always liked those guitars, and have always kind of wanted one.

Nothing like getting new gear after your "career". Nice equipment btw. No. I was referring to that list you just gave.
I have a bunch of guitars but this telecaster is my workhorse. As you can see the pickups are strat style. I ripped the single coils out and replaced the bridge and mid pickups with Seymore Duncan hotrails. In the neck position I put in the old bullet style single coil for that tele blues sound. I put a push pull switch in the volume knob that turns the bridge pickup off and on. So if I only have the neck pickup on, I can pull the switch and turn the bridge pickup on for that true tele sound. I basically can select every combo of pickups which you can't do with a strat. I do love my strat though too. But this girl is my work horse.

She is a beauty, yop!!
Love the custom pickups. I do have a dual rail humbucker on my Jackson, and I can attest that those pickups are hot!
Very nice guitar. Love the sunburst finish, too.

Hey I have a request, can you play Freebird?
Oh, I crack myself up.
Wait. Did I say crack? I SO want to do the Crack with an Attitude G2G but I'm working non stop that week and my recreational vehicle (heh) isn't running right.
How about some bluesy number so I can groove a bit?
Last night I had a little Fresh Squeezed from Deschutes after my hike. Very nice.
