It's illegal to smoke in bars in my state, so we'll have to use one of you all's states, or relocate to a place that is warm enough to migrate to the patio. Or a place with a fire pit will do.
Let me go grab my pipe (no not that kind of pipe), and some English tobacco.

no not that kind of pipe

But pipe smoke is pleasant, and actually a good whiskey (or whisky) has those notes...
Pun intended.

I agree, the two go really well together. A good cigar goes well with whiskey, too.

Hilarious! Tonight this place has the feel of a speakeasy. I like it. Oh, and Peggy said she does, too. (Less guard-dog duty, more sleeping.)
Is it different on Saturday night? Seems like the appearance (or non-appearance, more telling) of the badger is seminal. Is there a disco ball later?

I walk my dog for a couple of minutes and I miss cigars and firepits?! I'm so in!! Good fall chill in the air tonight. I'm going. For peat now for sure. Here's my all time favorite everyday drinker. Just take it easy as it's cask strength but you'd never know it by how easy it drams. Fantastic with cigars.
Not sure where Forged is. Maybe the badger wanted a night off to hang by himself for a change.

Dude, I can smell the peat from here.
That is an excellent scotch. I did try a sample of it once, and I had no idea it was cask strength.
I may have to have a dram of Benromach Peat Smoke later. Smallest distillery in Speyside, and Speyside is my favorite region. Two guys run the whole operation, and they make a beautiful dram.

I totally thought you said the badger was going to "hang himself."
Maybe it was just the Four Roses or the pic of the Scotch...I mean, seems like he gets blamed for a lot.
I hope I don't find myself chasing a badger through the streets of Music City, 'cause they just don't understand that kind of existential semi-Celtic stuff around here, and I'm ostracized enough, yop.
Still thinkin' on names for our house band...hoping others will have input, cuz so far I don't have anything appropriate for mixed company.

Love Speyside too. Actually, love them all. I don't discriminate.
Yeah, the Uigeadail is 54.2 abv but you'd never know it. The sherry balances out the heat and the peat real well. Oh this is sooooooo good.

Just got my rescue from TN last weekend WB. He was picked up wandering the streets of Memphis. That's Mickey that I mentioned earlier. There's a pic of him passed out over on page 5.
Oh somehow I think anything would fly in this mixed company and mixed up we are.

Mickey is Super-AdorAble, yop!
Peg and I, and the other fur-babies who've asked to abstain from this semi-reality venue due to privacy issues, are going to bed before we fall asleep in this most-comfortable booth. (Sorta like not ALL Ozzie's kids were part of the TV show...)
Sweet whiskey/whisky dreams to all!

MOS - Forged is busy. Work is crazy. Recently started a part-time gig which is proving both interesting and lucrative.
Not enough hours in the day at the moment, but it's all good.

Over here on the left coast I'm looking forward to my Saturday night at the roadhouse patio, where DIPA and herb burning are as well matched as Islay and cigars.
Both in flavor and style I might add.
Reba wants to hit the beach today so I'm thinking we might also have a bit of eau du salty dog at our feet.

Great tune, kk. After last call last night I threw some pork in the crock pot to cook over night, and have made some carnitas "street tacos" today for people to snack on, particularly those that might have "the munchies".
Currently sipping on a Lagunitas Maximus. Had a Chimay Blue earlier, in remembrance of a friend of mine.
Prosit.

It's almost dark out here now, so I'm wandering inside. Been a nice leave-the-doors open all day kinda day.
But now the moths want to be near the lights so I have to at least close the screen door.
The Roadhouse got hammered by all the motos, roadies and mountain bikers with big thirsts hitting on the local bottles so I'm settling for a nice cold IPA from Ninkasi outta Oregon, and some Kraken Sativa from Buddy's Collective.
The brew is a nice unoffensive IPA, citrus and pine, with a bit of a bitter start but smooth finish. Not too malty or dense, very drinkable. The herb is the only RX anti-depressant I take any more and my prescription is valid at my local dispensary, taxed and charged to my credit card donchaknow, cuz that's how we roll here.
Carnitas, MMMMmmmmm. Yummie Losfer! I have a slab of wild Coho I may grill up. Haven't decided yet.
Living large. Na zdrowie!

My oh my, what a day
Still waiting to hear on the 2 promotions I am up for and I had the 2nd interview for one of them 4 weeks ago. Still not out of the running but I haven't heard anything as of yet. So it seems like a good night for a little nip of the whiskey and some SOA. Yup, that's me. Livin' the dream
