Well here's the update - the police wanted him to look at some suspects, one in particular, that they have arrested. None of them match the DNA, but these guys are apparently doing the same type of thing.
Anyway, DS wasn't able to identify any of them, but the police said that they thought that the one guy probably knew the ones that attacked him. The police are trying to get him to tell who these guys are.
So with any luck they are really closing in on my son's attackers.
The night before he went, we were talking a little about him going to the police. I asked if he knew why they wanted him to go in. He said he wasn't sure but that they had told him they arrested some people. So we figured it was for an identification. I reminded him to take his time with that, and I know that when he looks at stuff he runs through the whole ordeal each time so I told him to do his best to relax. He feels like he wants to rush through it so he doesn't have to think about it.
I also asked him whether he would recognize them. He said yes, and the way he said it made chills run up my spine. In that one word, he expressed an anger and a sadness that just hurt my soul. I asked if both men attacked him, and his response to that was 'what difference does it make'.
So we quit talking about that and started talking about train times and stuff like that. My poor baby, he is hurting so badly.
In any case, even though these guys have not been caught, we are very encouraged because the police are investigating this so actively. We hope they are getting closer to the creeps and that this part will be over in the relatively near future.
Thanks all for keeping DS in your thoughts.
