My Dad just celebrated age 89.

Had colon cancer in 1993. The chemo and radiation made him tired, but that was it. He stayed mentally positive.

We are so grateful he did the chemo/radiation.

Sending good thoughts your way.

OK- My surgery is scheduled for April 2nd at 7:30am central time. The surgeon seems confident.

(don't they all?)

Sounds like a simple plumbing procedure. Take out the section with a hold, put in a coupling, glue the ends back together. Bammo.

They won't know until they get in there whether or not it's stage 1, 2, or 3. I may not need any chemo or radiation as long as it hasn't spread to the lymph nodes or through the wall of the colon.

Want to know the funny thing? I'm more afraid of throwing up than I am of the cancer. I haven't thrown up since May of 1986 and it terrifies me. Sincerely. So hoping for no chemo. :-)

I so identify with your fear of throwing up. That's quite an impressive streak you have going.

Good luck with the surgery. Sending positive thoughts for no chemo.

Aw man, MN, I don’t check this forum very often so I’m just now seeing this. I’m encouraged that it seems to be a ‘simple plumbing procedure’! I am sending you lots of love, hugs, positive vibes, mojo, and whatever else I can.

And yep, we got you, friend. Hang in there!
