This whole "Spring Ahead, Fall Back" time shifting shit's gotta stop.

I'm tired and hungry when I'm not supposed to be and have slept like crap the last two days.

It's not like it was back in my 20's when we'd get an extra hour of partying in. I'm too old for this.

Just sayin'...

Is compulsive obssesive hyphenated?

What exactly is the meaning and purpose of "Ashes to ashes, funk to funky, we all know Major Tom was a junkie."?

(t/j because I am just asking)

I don't understand why bra straps can't stay up. On that note, I don't understand why bras can't be made to be more comfortable.

Also? I spend way too much time thinking about who uses the Oxford comma, and why people make the choice they do about it.

I have know clue what an Oxford comma is. Just sayin'

why people make the choice they do about it.

I'm guessing b/c they have no clue what it is either. They just can't admit it. Just sayin'

Thank all you gorgeous Iron Man competitors. What an awesome surprise to welcome me to my vacatation spot. Your tight bums and great, athletic bods really made me feel great! I come to the beach this late in the year, so I can be the hot chick! or not cuz no one cares.

There you are tho, before daylight, swimming in frigid waters in wetsuits, Cycling like fiends...running without anything chasing you!! Great job and awesome bods.

When yall gotta be back at work? Just saying.

Oxford Comma is a song by Vampire Weekend.

However, after watching the video, I still have no idea what it's about.

Crazy Lady With Whom I Work,

I looooove listening to your daily 45min phone calls to your Facebook pals.
The window I get into your life is

In the three years you've worked here, you've moved 7 times. Every single time, you complain that your housemates or roommates have issues (even when you were living with your son and his girlfriend).

Here's a little tip for you:
Problems with one roommate, I can see.
Problems with two even.
But when a person has problems in EVERY household they've lived in, that person MAY want to look in the mirror.

Just sayin'...

And the frequency with which you move MAY have something to do with why you can never find anyone to help you move your shit. Just sayin'.

Your kid is mean to my kids and I do not particularly like watching her for you.

That being said, the kids NEVER have school on election day, you must know this.. So please do not text me the night before saying you just had it sprung on you that there is no school tomorrow.

I need time and preparation to allow your kid to come yell at my kids all day because she doesn't know how to act.

just sayin..

Alex Mama posting about the Oxford comma? This daughter of an English teacher is positively giddy with delight.

just saying

alex mama posted 11/8/2011 23:11 PM

I'm wondering why myheartstillhurt's kids don't have school on election day. That's inconvenient, what with it being in the middle of the week and all.

The Oxford comma is the comma before the word "and" at the end of a list. Example: "I only post on SI on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays." The comma after "Tuesdays" is an Oxford comma. It's becoming more commonplace - I'm assuming because of word processing programs - to say, "I only post on SI on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays."

Now my random thought is how many people on SI just elevated my level of dorkdom because I posted about freaking commas in Fun and Games.

What can I say? I think grammar is fun.

vtach posted 11/8/2011 23:51 PM

alex mama, you aren't a dork. In fact you are a "goddess". You posted at exactly 11:11 in the 11th month of 2011. I'm certain that must be significant.

Thanks for the lesson in oxford commas. I'm willing to teach you about Alabama commas too!
