And then thereís me...

landclark posted 4/28/2020 20:17 PM

My WH used to get up in the middle of the night to chat with cam girls.

Then thereís me. I get up in the middle of the night to snag Disney puzzle deals on Amazon.

We are not the same person.....

I donít know what SMY means or what the point of your response is. I was just trying to be silly.

You definitely made the better choice

Somanyyears signs his posts smy as initials for his screen name. I think he was just being silly back, saying he and his WW are both old.

I have moments where my H will do something (typically forget me and/or the kids, like literally fix himself food and leave us standing there, stuff like that) and even when he apologizes I think, "Who does that? Who ever really does that, and what do I make of the fact that he CAN do that?"

So I know what you mean. It makes me feel alone. Even if I am laughing at my H, that realization still makes me feel a little alone.

..sorry if my response was confusing

Yes, I was just trying to be 'silly' back at you.

I now wonder if most members here have been trying to figure out what smy means??

years ago, someone ended their post with"YMMV" and I didn't know it was "Your Mileage May Vary"

I thought it was.."You Make Me Vomit" and I was a wee bit offended..

So many abbreviations here!

smy = so many years Now everybody knows!

THAT may be way out of line.

I'll accept 'aging', though.

But perhaps I'm projecting....

The first few times I saw SMY, I thought it was a variation of SMDH. I got it eventually!

landclark posted 4/29/2020 14:10 PM

I honestly read it as SYM which is shut your mouth, and that you were mocking me. Thank you for explaining, and so sorry for my harsh reaction!

Look at all of us! We use the same ridiculous text language our grandkids do. R for reconciliation and D for divorce. There are so many I canít keep up. I did actually know that was you somanyyears. I think in another 100 years English wonít sound, or read, the way it does now. BS for betrayed spouse and WS for wayward spouse. They both sound so benign and cheating is never benign.

Sorry. Ranting a little.

..

Sorry your thread got bent into what and who smy means??

Glad I could clear that mystery up..

I hope other members have NOT been assuming that smy is Si code for "s**k my... for the LAST TEN YEARS!!!!!!!

That would have been WAY WAY WAY TOO triggery to use for my screen name.

smy

Now, back to landclark's thread..

STBX would get up in the middle of the night, raid the fridge and pantry. Eat the ice cream and any treats that I would save for our children. Leave empty wrappers and empty ice cream boxes back freezer..

ME... WTF
