It was something we learned in Britain during the years of IRA bombings.

That was exactly what I was thinking about earlier, neh. That we are now like London (England) having bombings anywhere anytime.

They'll get more info from a live perpetrator.

Thats true TR, but I was thinking more along the lines that since 2 are dead (so far) I would trade a dead bomber to have one of the innocent victims alive, kwim?

My daughter and her H live in that area. I heard from her and she is okay.

But she was in Virginia Tech, in the next building down during that massacre on April 16th, 2007. It just makes me sick with worry.

I can't get through to a friend of mine. She has medical issues and goes out to Mass General from time to time. I hope she's not there today.

It's awful. My sister in law was running today, and I thought my brother might be at the finish line waiting for her, along with her family. I called his cel and it went right to vm so I freaked. Thankfully he was at home, and my SIL was 2.5 miles from the finish line.

I'm glad everyone is okay so far.

I wonder if there is still a threat or if they are just being cautious. I heard on the world news that people are being told to stay away from large groups in Boston.

I think...therefore, I'm single.

It is what it is.

Glad everyone who had people in the area have learned they're okay. Cat, hope you will make it home all right.

I was another one who thought of 9/11. Hopefully once things settle down, no one gets a hair up their ass and starts blaming the organizers for what happened - like they blamed the builders of the towers when they collapsed.

As far as casualties, I've heard two dead, over 100 injured. I also saw the little biy in the wheelchair. He looked to be about my GSs age. I was thinking "My God, he can't be more than 7 years old!"

Prayers going out to all of Boston.
